Tony gets distracted when Peter talks.
The world sounded like waves crashing in his ears and his cheeks felt hot from the flush on them as Tony stared at the boy in front of him. They'd been like this for a long while now, sitting on the living room couch as they spoke to one another. Well, Peter was doing the talking and Tony was supposed to be listening but he was just...staring.
He had always found Peter beautiful, always thought his hair laid in the perfect way and his smile glimmered even in the dimmest room. He wasn't doing anything special, he was simply talking with such enthusiasm about the upcoming project he had for his class. His body was turned slightly towards Tony and his arms were waving around as he spoke, a smile on his face as he bounced off ideas with Tony about his project.
"So, I was thinking instead of using a-" Peter's words slowed down to a stop as he saw the way Tony was simply nodding absentmindly, barely paying any attention to what he was saying as Tony had yet to say any real words for the past five minutes. Peter tilted his head to the side with his smile growing softer, "Are you even listening to me?"
Tony blinked a few times and nodded mindlessly, "Mhm." He hummed as his eyes gazed over his perfect lips and cute nose. He noticed as the bows brow furrowed and his head tilted more to the side like a confused puppy, his curls flowing around and framing his face.
He was so cute.
Peter pouted, "You're not listening to me!" He jokingly accused. His bottom lip jutted out and it made Tony want to lean forward and press their mouths together for a sweet kiss. He knew their lips would dance together in sync as always.
Tony finally blinked back into reality and gave a small chuckle, "Sorry-Sorry! I'll pay attention now, promise." He gave Peter a small nod to reassure him that he was going to pay attention this time but as soon as the boy opened his mouth it was like he was sucked back into a world that surrounded around Peter.
He can barely process the words Peter is saying, they sound distant and far away. He'd feel guilty about it if he wasn't too busy studying the others pretty face. Tony blinked slowly, like a cat, and his mouth was tugged upwards in a soft smile as Peter's voice soothed any thoughts in his mind. He felt like he was sitting in a hot tub, completely relaxed and dazed with his body flushed and warm to the touch.
"Tony!" The sound of his name said in a soft laugh snapped him back into the moment and his smile grew wider at the sound of that sweet laugh. He held his hands up in defense, "I'm sorry! You just sound so pretty when you talk." He basically cooed in defense.
Peter's cheeks flushed pink, "You can't just zone out each time I talk." He smiled, clearly not really caring. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, thudding at the sweet words Tony told him.
Tony reached out and cupped Peter's cheek softly, "I'm sorry, really, I just," He leaned forward and pecked the boys lips, "I can listen to you talk all day and your voice makes my brain short circuit." He moved forward again to press another peck to his lips then another and one more for good measure.
Peter giggled and raised a hand up to hold the man's hand that was cupping his cheek and leaned into the feeling of his warm palm, "I guess that's a good enough excuse." He smiled and pressed a longer, chaste, kiss to Tony's lips.
Tony pulled back after a long moment, "Okay, okay," He nodded and focused, "Tell me about your project, I'll listen this time. I promise." He smiled.
He didn't listen that time or the time after.
