possibly one of my least favourite things I see people consistently say on the internet is any mention of hating rays because of steve irwin on a video with rays in it. ot does not matter what type of ray it is in the video, someone will always mention steve irwin. 1) if you really want to hate them so bad then you have to actually know what you are hating. no that cow nose ray in the video did not cause that man's death. 2) that is literally the exact opposite of what steve irwin was about. its not the animal's fault.

"I would think the whale shark would be like 10x bigger" it would be fucking insane if a shark was 200 feet long. do you know how much 10x is? that would be 139 feet longer than the largest known whale shark. it would be around 150 feet longer than a typical prehistoric megalodon, which is famously known for being huge.

It makes me so upset when people refuse to accept that not all aquariums are bad. Yes it is wrong to contain animals solely for human entertainment. Those facilities are terrible inhumane places. But not all of them are like that. Rehabilitation centers exist. Not all animals would survive if they were released back into the wild. Yes you are right about many aquariums but not all of them are like that and that needs to be understood. Those animals are not being mistreated and very much should not be released into the wild.

Which is what they were talking about when they said to leave her alone. Racism is not okay and not something we should be defending. I don't care if her book was written 65 years ago or yesterday. Even at the time she should have known better.
