"I would think the whale shark would be like 10x bigger" it would be fucking insane if a shark was 200 feet long. do you know how much 10x is? that would be 119 feet longer than the largest known whale shark. it would be around 150 feet longer than a typical prehistoric megalodon, which is famously known for being huge.

It makes me so upset when people refuse to accept that not all aquariums are bad. Yes it is wrong to contain animals solely for human entertainment. Those facilities are terrible inhumane places. But not all of them are like that. Rehabilitation centers exist. Not all animals would survive if they were released back into the wild. Yes you are right about many aquariums but not all of them are like that and that needs to be understood. Those animals are not being mistreated and very much should not be released into the wild.
