I mean come on. She always knew you were strong, especially when she first showed up in the circus and you were just a nicer version of jax

You were strong and confident and prideful, that she just fed off your energy, and that's honestly how SHE got so strong for the others to rely on

So seeing you, that pillar that allowed her to adjust so quickly, finally breaking down? Chest heaving and tears streaming down your face, fingers digging into your chest as if trying to reign it in?

She.. god, she never expected that from you. She's stunned, even, staring at you before moving into action, even touching you to try and bring you back

Because you're RESPECTFUL and know she's not one for touch, you try to pull back for her comfort, choking on apologies before she has to bring you back into her arms

Because she remembers when you first did this for her, and at that time, her being so desperate for contact she didn't even care about the touch thing

She assumed you needed the same. She learned all this from you, after all.

☆RAGATHA☆

for someone who also conceals what she actually feels for the sake of others, she understands your predicament on an uncomfortably personal level

But you're far more confident than she is that she almost believes you're unbreakable. Comforting the newbies, spending time with all of them, even Jax, to make sure they'll be alright

God, she aspires to be like you someday. Out of everyone, you are her inspiration, most definitely

So when a friend, when Ribbit abstracted, she watched you break for the first time ever. You attended the funeral, you stayed strong then, listing everything you loved about them and being their friend

She's walking back to her room when she sees you, standing in the hallway in front of Ribbit's door

Assuming no one is here, because Jax is in his room and the others are somewhere else, you're.. crying

Heartbreaking, full body sobs that she's never seen you do before. She's seen you tear up, maybe, but never this type of sadness

She's entranced, in a way, as she watches. Your hands are clenched so tightly there are creaking noises straining from the creases, digging into your clothes or skin, folding in on yourself

The tears are so big they blind you, blind Ribbit and her face. Why didn't you go check on her? You saw them looking down and reached out, and when they pushed you away, you just accepted it? How fucking stupid are you?

You hate yourself for this, because maybe you could've saved her. Your hands go from your clothes to your shoulders, gripping harshly. You idiot. You idiot.

Then she's there, crying with you and cradling you against her chest, holding you like she would a child because god she understands

She feels the same hatred you do.

☆GANGLE☆

After Zooble, you are her safe place

If something goes wrong or something happens or Jax bullies her again, she goes to either Zooble or you, but then again...

She's seen Zooble cry. But she's never seen you cry, not once. Ever, actually. That's confusing to her, but she finds solace in you, and has drawn you countless times as some undefeatable hero in some shonen anime she can't seem to remember

Until that adventure, that day. The day Caine made everyone believe that they had even the slightest chance of escaping this hell.

You're so angry, at first, festering with the same anger as everyone else, but it just boils uncontrollably until you're.. sobbing?

Face contorted, every feature trembling as if screaming the sorrow of everyone, those cartoonish tears dragging down your face as if scarring you

She's never seen you like this. It scares her, almost, how you looked that day. So angry and so damn hurt. But for some reason, seeing you that way.. you were so beautiful.

She can't contain the urge of an artist, and now, instead of drawing you as an undefeatable hero, you're drawn with that same expression, breaking down, angry on everyone's behalf

She feels guilty for finding such attraction in your intense feelings, but she just ends up loving you more.

☆ZOOBLE☆

Zooble always thinks of themselves as some sort of ugly. An ugly that can't be fixed by changing between these parts, by acting different

They're shackled to an identity they wish they could get rid of and perfect and they just can't. They'll lay there, having a damn panic attack over an identity.

But you've always been there, holding them in whichever way you must to make them feel even a bit better, praising them with every new look they try, and you're probably one of the only reasons they even love themselves at all

So when they see you break down, have one of those panic attacks over something you insist is trivial — they know better, they always have — and just sobbing, they.. pause

That expression of yours. They're shocked. They hate they assumed, but they always thought you'd be pretty when you cried. This expression is, inherently, ugly.

But they don't see you that way at all. You're beautiful, actually, and that makes them hesitate before comforting you because you're just so pretty

They think about this, and think, 'is that how I look to them?' But in a good way. You see them as.. beautiful. And they finally get that.

They start to think being 'ugly' isn't so bad after all.

☆JAX☆

He always stops himself from crying. His body, this world, is so damn stupid that how could he cry in it? Over what, fake people? Oh please.

That's why he got with you in the first place. You never cried, not during funerals, not when people abstracted. Hell, sometimes you even made light of things, which he particularly enjoyed

He was softening up a bit. Being more like himself. It was a bit annoying, but he had you, so what of it?

Then he sees you crying. You're angry, which he, of course, has felt before, but you're so angry you're crying. You, of all people, are shedding tears in such a place? He stares in a way that looks almost.. disgusted, as much as disbelieving.

He thought you were strong enough. This.. this is just pathetic.

He doesn't talk to you again after. He didn't comfort you then, either, which is to be expected of him. But he just starts.. isolating you. Leaves you behind in discussion, never pairs up with you, talks to ANYONE else so you're alone

Because pathetic people have no place here.

so why is he now crying, standing before your door, your profile crossed out, staring at him like he's a tick you can't brush off. And maybe he was.

For some weird damn reason, he regrets it. And that becomes his final reason as well.

He hopes he can apologize.

☆KINGER☆

He always tried to coax you into letting out your emotions instead of just pushing through, because the wise kinger says to take care of yourself damn it!!!

After Queenie he doubted he could love again, but then you showed up. You only recently started dating him, since you didn't want to get him in another relationship after his wife abstracted

because we're RESPECTFUL

But he sees you starts crying, and even though it's bright as SHIT in the circus, he locks in. Because wdym. His partner is crying.

He gets flashbacks of being with his wife in the real world, of her crying and being in distress, and I SWEAR he's never locked in so fast. He's by your side, holding you, saying all the right things because come on guys its KINGER

after the cause of your distress is taken away or dealt with, he brings you to his pillow fort and you guys stay like that for hours, laying on his chest as he speaks about bugs and all the things he likes

And also just as quickly does everyone protect and defend you. Like Jax could open his mouth and they are all already rushing to your defense lmao

Even gangle dont fucking play when it comes to you

of course, at first, he's teasing and lwk bullying you obviously because its jax come on

But when you keep dodging it by smiling or even AGREEING with him to hopefully make him happy, it confuses the hell out of him like

You aren't mad??? At him??? What the fuckkkk????

eventually, somehow, on some adventure you two get separated from the group and end up being stuck together and somehow actually getting along and learning things about each other

He actually falls for you wowww wowww

But he's lwk traumatized from pomni trying to get close to him that for a long time he ignores it and moves on

And probably forgets about you KIDDING KIDDINGGGG

Something reminds him of his past with both pomni and ribbit and he kinda just breaks down, and you comfort him, and he ends up spilling his heart to you

And then boom yall become a thing

The group actually, at first, thinks you're hypnotized 😔✌️ like wdym you're with HIM

Zooble like pulls you behind them protectively, Ragatha flanking your other side and checking your eyes for a concussion or being hypnotized because god knows what Caine can do

"What did you do to y/n? Spill it before I get Caine, you ###hole!" Jax scoffs, raising his hands in surrender, back arching slightly to lean away from Zooble.

"Oh come on, Zoobie, I'm not that bad! I wouldn't stop that low, sheesh! I'm hurt, truly," Zooble makes a noise that's almost like a growl, glaring at him, while Ragatha busies herself with checking you over.

"Come on, y/n, sweetheart. Look at me. I just need to check something. He didn't do anything, did he? You're okay?" Despite her focus, Ragatha's voice had pitched to a new level of concern, cradling your face in her hands. "Yes, Ragatha, I'm okay—" "Shh, shh, I know."

despite being total opposites, you two are surprisingly healthy for one another

you teach him how to be gentle and kind when it's needed, how to reign in reactions that hurt him and others, and he teaches you how to be angry and how to say no and refuse outlandish requests etc

Those are mainly from NPCS. the cast loves you too much to ever try doing stuff like that to you

Even with how healthy you are for each other, Ragatha and Zooble (and basically everyone) don't approve. You're wayyyy too nice for him

They only kinda start to handle him when you rub off on him and he starts acting a little nicer to them

But you're also there for him in the harder parts of this.

The fact you two will probably never meet in real life, that this is all just some weird reality or whatever, that he fucked up so bad that his friends are gone

She thinks you're cool as crap fr. But she's also a little jester you know

Lwk made you mad as hell on your first day because she approached you with a stupid pirate joke

"What's a pirate's favorite part of a modern ship?"

"Pomni I swear to god."

"ARRRRRR-conditioning!! HAHHAA— ...did you get it-"

"SHUT THE F—"

You ignore her for a few days after that, because every time you see her that's all you think about lmao

Eventually (and this goes for every character on this list), you are ranked as the group's best treasure tracker

Literally you can find everything and anything in an adventure, and sometimes you keep a few cool things

But you also find a few things that lwk remind you of her fr. Like something with her color pallete or that it looks a bit pathetic, like a wet cat

She literally slapped you for that BTW because how DAREEE you compare her to a wet cat like wdym...

But she ends up falling in love with that humor and spark of life in you, clinging to it whenever she can

So when you continue to tease her with gifts like those, she switches from slapping you to being so, so grateful

☆RAGATHA☆

She's actually so drawn to you bro bro because omg you're just so cool? Like your avatar is FIREEE she lwk jealous

And TWINSSSS because you have an eyepatch like how she has a button for an eye and so you two were literally twinning from the start

You become easy friends, even if you're kinda closed off, she doesn't mind. When she gets you to talk, you often teach her how to use the sword your avatar was given

which she appreciates because next time Jax pisses her off she'll just take your sword and use that practice on him lmao

But you also get her a bunch of ragdolls or horses or farm animals from your collections, always particularly looking out for them because you know she likes them

Similarly, she'll try to find or make stuff that resembles you, like a parrot or something along those lines

So CUTEEEEE

But it triples when you two get together, because even if you like some of the farm stuff you find, it's ALL going to her. No questions asked. All for ragatha.

When you first arrive, I feel like due to how shy you both are, you two wouldn't talk until a substantial amount of time has passed since your arrival

Even then, the conversations are brief and short-lived, but you learn enough about her in that time to make a guess on some stuff she would like

In a plan to finally talk to her, you gather a bunch of artsy or anime-esque figures or dolls or concepts or wtv and keep them in a pile just for her, so when you finally build up the courage to actually talk to her, you have a bunch of gifts to shower her in!

With enough encouragement, you bring the best suited (in your opinion) gift for her to spark up conversation. It's an anime character figurine who's drawing, two things she likes

She is actually so enamored with it that she lwk falls in love with you right there

After a bit more time and getting to know one another, you two get together and you finally show her your big ahh pile of gifts you've been saving over all of this time

She's actually stun-locked

She doesn't move for a good hour, actually, taking it in. Then she spends another hour going through all of them and deciding that, yes, she's keeping all of them

You get her more, obviously.

☆ZOOBLE☆

Off the bat, you think they're hella cool

Like as soon as you meet them, you like their vibe, their voice, their style, their avatar, just overall a very cool person

So you stick with them

You may not talk that much, but you keep them company while you fidget with your collectibles that you have from your adventures, and honestly? They prefer that silence after being in a place so loud

You subconsciously become their safe space. If things become too loud, they seek you out, sitting beside you and just watching you do your thing

Until eventually, you start introducing them to the stuff you find. Asking their opinion, what they like, dislike, etc

They appreciate your consideration of them. In return, they introduce you to the stuff they own, and after a bit of a shared brainwave, you two try to mash them together

Lwk you two end up making some crazy cool stuff. Abstract as hell, but really cool

They had known they were in love a bit before, but considering what they then knew of you, they didn't want to overwhelm you with such stuff until you talked first

And since you have, they have too— and you two end up together, and are by far one of the BEST couples in the circus

LIVES to piss you off

If he's bored, has nothing to do, wants to blow off some steam, he will purposefully seek you out to do so

At first, since you didn't really know anybody, you lwk clung to that interaction in hopes of being "normal" again

But then he hits a nerve and you stab him with your avatars sword, which Caine has to fix, and he kind of respects that you will, at least at some point, stand up for yourself

Now YOU live to piss HIM off

Poking him with the sword, getting a bunch of corn-like treasures and throwing them at him with the others like a horde

What was once a silly game for him has now become his torment 💔

You eventually stop when he begrudgingly surrenders, and he then realizes that oh. ohhh no. He likes you.

He kinda panics over this info for a bit, reeling and pulling back into himself, before just going for it

"F IT WE BALL"

He's actually shocked you felt the same way

You are the calm to his storm, and because he loves you, he listens. If he doesn't, you'll just get the corn collectibles and he'll start covering

(You give the rest of the cast some of those said collectibles for their safety)

☆KINGER☆

oh come on this is obvious

Anything you get him will be bug related or anything to do with some type of insect

but before that, he was your safe space. You joined him in the pillow fort when this life got too much and he would comfort you, sane in the darkness that often sparked insanity

Because of that (and because you didn't know how to otherwise), you would find treasure that looked or resembled bugs in some way and would make sure to give them to him

Since he would probably lose them when in the light, you wait until he's in his pillow fort to do so

He treasures all of them, but there's one he loves the most

you two had just gotten together and had gone on this adventure. Because Caine is Caine, he always makes sure to add "treasure" of varying rarity for your sake, since he's a good ringmaster

You had found this AWESOMEEE figure of a lightning bug that, when in the light long enough, would glow in the darkness. You thought Kinger would love it, and you were right

For DAYS after finding such a thing, he would spend hours just holding the figure in his palms, allowing it to soak up as much light as possible, before cradling it to his body in the pillow fort and enjoying its gorgeous light
