I'm pretty sure the main reason Aziraphale wanted to go look for ✨Clues✨ in Edinburgh was just to get away from Gabriel and the whole Gabriel situation. He just got done dissociating so hard during the Job flashback that he didn't even notice Crowley leaving the bookshop, Jimbriel actually had to tell him Crowley was gone. Then Aziraphale tells Jimbriel how "awful" he "used to be", and establishes that he hopes Jimbriel isnt still awful. Next time we see Aziraphale he's bullying (lol) Crowley into including the Bentley in their common law marriage assets and telling Crowley to mind the bookshop and the amnesiac archangel inside of it while he takes a fruitless roadtrip.

Aziraphale is freaking out, trying very hard not to show or even acknowledge to himself that he's losing it, and barely hanging on.

Thinking about how the ball was actually Aziraphale confessing to Crowley, and how happy and excited he was the whole time like he had been waiting to do this for ages even though he didn't even want to organize the meeting. And the fact that Aziraphales idea of what a confession looks like is people dancing together at a ball. And how he seemed to be so occupied with something else he wasn't even listening when Crowley tried to tell him there were demons outside. Because he wanted to dance with Crowley, that was Aziraphales confession.

In case you were wondering I'm still thinking about the composition of this shot. The absolute split down the middle between light and dark colors. The way that despite that both sides have their own lights and their own shadows because one cannot exist without the other. The fact Aziraphale's side is a warmer sort of light that compliments Crowley's colors and Crowley's is a blueish sort of dark where the windows even look like tartan. The fact Crowley's side isn't the green dark of Hell and Aziraphale's isn't the sterile white of Heaven but are both shades shifted slightly to the left into something distinct and totally their own. It's balance - even in the middle of heartbreak - and it drives me absolutely wild.

i just love how soft crowley is with muriel and how he answers ALL of their questions without hesitation and no matter how afraid or furious he is at jimbriel he never fails to answer one of his questions bc at the end of the day he knows what it's like to have your questions go unanswered and he'd just never do that anyone. not like some fucking people.
