ooc: oh my god i love abel i think abel is great and has made great improvements since chapter 1? however, i find it “…” that he would try so hard for a guy (i.e. dickweed cain) who used him in the beginning and slept with him and was rather forceful with him even if towards the more recent updates, has shown change and possibly returning the feelings? but my feelings towards cainabel is like “you can do better” @ abel bc its true lol i wouldn’t trust cain nor would i let him step over me NOR WOULD I GIVE HIM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT??? so i think abel is just rly kind (or rly thirsty) to give cain a chance

His quest to find someone, however, is interrupted mainly by some schmuck who was making girls giggle but never keeping their attention long enough. The dark brunette couldn’t help but roll his eyes and snort. Cain couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry as he made his way towards the other, hand on the other’s shoulder and a sly grin.

“You talk big handsome but that’s definitely not enough to keep a lady’s attention. You’re too cheesy, you might wanna take a more direct approach.” 

       you briefly remember this guy… or something? there’s a part of you who’s sure you’ve seen him before, but you can’t quite pinpoint where. maybe in that public bathroom you went a few days ago. there was fucking packed, what’s up with that? but guess that’s what caught you staring– that, and those clothes. usually you let most things slide for the irony of them, but that one? nah. you’re the irony police and you’re gonna arrest the shit out of that dude.

What the fuck was this guy rabbling on about? He kinda wished the other didn’t open his mouth to talk. 

she hadn’t meant to stare, honestly. she had just been curious, since well– she had actually never seen anyone in such attire before. she felt a bit embarrassed about being caught, enough that she felt a rush of heat climb her face.

she dipped her head apologetically to the other.

“no, i work at the bar down the street.”

“and… i apologize, i didn’t mean to stare. but to answer your question, no. i have not. i was just surprised to see such attire.”

In almost an instant, as though the scowl never existed on his features before, Cain perked up. 

“A bar? Блядь (fuck), finally some booze and- hold up. Aren’t you a lil too young to be workin’ at a bar lil miss?” Cain wasn’t usually the type to bother a lady on her age but the alcohol ages did vary from colony to colony and on Earth. Still, doesn’t hurt to be certain. 

“I just tell myself everyone wants a piece of me and that shit can be left up to interpretation. Sometimes, I get laid, sometimes I get a bloody nose in the back alley, behind a bar- it all works out.” 

Dozing? He’d be insulted, but how was this poor, rugged specimen to know he was talking to the legendary Pisces Saint of Athena. Aphrodite had fought the Gods themselves, it would’ve been quite the ghastly spectacle to fall into hysteria over a simple ball flying his way. A more accurate terminology was basking, giving that porcelain pale skin more of a healthy glow.

He could have skirted that ball with ease, by the way, with grace and grandeur to boot.

But, one cannot react ungratefully to a benevolent action, even if the other male made sure to inject a good dose of sarcasm behind it.

“I could think of a few things...” Cain trails off but then shoos the idea away with a scoff and with arms crossed. Now wasn’t the time to go making himself available to the public, as much as he could use someone to blow off a little steam. “I don’t really care either way. On second thought, you’re not exactly my type.”

“Back in this shit hole again? Man, there’s a scientist out there who’s got a crush on me, I can feel it.” Cain cups his hands around his mouth. “I bet you just get off watching me take off my suit or something huh? If you wanted a show, you’re gonna have to start paying!” 

“ well look, if it ain’t my favorite xenophile human. welcome back to the shithole. sure the scientists get a kick out of watching your lily white ass. ”

“If it isn’t the head bitch herself. And I was starting to worry I wouldn’t recall a single face in this fuckin’ cesspool you call home.” He snickers at her next comment and grins, full of wild enthusiasm and a renewed sense of ‘let’s fuck shit up’.

Of course Cain was staring. How could he resist? Cute boys with cat ears and a tail? It was like this guy was asking for Cain’s eyes to wander on him.

“Obvious, was I?” Cain replies coolly, arms crossed with a slight smirk on his lips. “I like what I see…” 

“Nfufu.. Just a little.” 

And it was a little irritating. But… Well, it might be a little amusing now. Auger might even be a little flattered. “Come now.. You’re going to make me blush.” However, beneath the grin, the annoyance was still there. As was disgust… That’s how it always was with him.

“So? Is that all?.. My charm really must have distracted you.” 

“Do you intend to ask for permission to pet my ears? I might let you.” 

It was just a little game for all Cain cared. They said no? Then that was the end of that. But those who let him give chase- those were the ones worth pursuing. Or, you know, if they pissed him off enough he had to maybe fight them in the future or something. Other than that, this may be the first and last time Auger were to ever see him.

It isn’t often that Mikazuki sees someone so openly injured walking about, but with how diverse the people seem to be within the city, it’s difficult to say that anything at all can be considered normal. But that, he thinks, is part of Hive City’s charm–how no day is exactly the same as another, be it through violent chaos or simply some good-natured fun.

“Do you need directions to the hospital? I’m not very confident in my ability to give you clear directions, but I can lead you there, if you’d like.”

Cain getting into fights was as common as the cold. He exerted his dominance, his alpha status, in these little skirmishes but there were some fights that left him with more scratches than he’d usually like. He knew he didn’t look so good but any opportunity of help would’ve definitely been shooed away. So, when Mikazuki appeared, offering his help, Cain scowls.
