Bruce: Sherlock Holmes

He just an old guy who’s into classics. He’s read all the Holmes books but hasn’t watched many adaptations. Tim made him watch BBC Sherlock, and somehow this led to him explaining johnlock to Bruce. (In the top 10 conversations Tim wish he could’ve avoided). Honorable mention to Dupin who’s his second favorite.

Dick: Shawn Spencer

Overall isn’t super into detective media, he knows enough intelligent and nosy ppl to fill that role in his life. Finds Shawn funny though. (I’ve watched like one episode of Psyche so this is mostly off vibe.)

Jason: Miss Marple

I could see him just being rlly into Agatha Christie in general. Prob also likes Tommy & Tuppence. If he’s read then book then he’ll watch the adaptation and be rlly judgey about it.

Tim: Sherlock Holmes

He’s the one in the family who’s most in detective fiction. (He forces his family to watch a bunch of shit with him). The Jeremey Brett movies are his favorite Sherlock adaptations, but he has watched a bunch of them. Honorably mention to Benoit Blanc, he loves the knives out movies.

Damian: Detective Conan

I don’t have good reasoning or thought for this one. It just speaks to me. Tim also showed him Sherlock Hound. Which he said he found too silly, but only said that after they watched the entire series. They then watched Death Note together which he enjoyed a lot.

Cassandra: Enola Holmes

Also don’t have good reasoning for this one. There is something to be said about how the relationship Enola has with her mom makes her feel things.

Stephanie: Pip Fitz-Amobi

Pip makes so many questionable choices and Stephanie supports every single one. That series is the only one she rereads occasionally.

Duke: Scooby doo gang

It’s mostly just a childhood love of his. He watches it whenever he gets sick or is sad. The day he convinces enough ppl to do a group costume with him his life will be complete. Because of the ghosty and silly friend group similarities he also likes the dead boy detectives.

Barbara: Columbo

Like I would be seething every time Bernard told me he cancelled a date. Cause wtf else would he be doing with his time? He doesn’t go to college, he isn’t currently employed (and when he was employed he worked for his dad’s company cause he’s a nepo baby). Does he even have hobbies? WTF IS THIS GUY SO BUSY WITH HE HAS NO RESPONSIBILITIES

Even a “we hung out at his place the other day” would piss me off bc why are you always traveling to him when he lives on the ugliest boat in existence. Also why is his boat so ugly? Does he not have any inheritance from his parents that would afford him a better boat? Or is he irresponsible and spent most of it?

This is all to say that if I was Bernard’s friend I’d be begging for them to break up.
