anyway, i'm lara (@rising-above-stars) and this is a collection of organisation, productivity, study, etc.

I have left university education (for now, I am eyeing up some qualifications to add to the three I already have), but that doesn't mean I have to stop studying and learning. I still want to continue that, no matter how that looks.

I have a BA in creative writing and theatre, a diploma in library and information studies, and a postgrad diploma in museum studies. I would love to do some courses on te ao and te reo Māori, but we'll see how that goes

I write (fiction, fanfic, poetry, scripts), I make art (drawings, collages, printmaking, painting), I collect cool rocks, send postcards through Postcrossing, read, act. I'm attempting to redo my personal library spreadsheet and write stuff for a substack newsletter

So here's my blog of personal curriculums, writing, books, and journal ecosystems. And who knows, maybe the study stuff will come back if I enroll in more degrees

This month had me getting back into witchcraft (did some spells and finally sorted out the method I want to use for a grimoire), study (beginner te reo māori language course), and theatre (finally got into the local Shakespeare scene by playing Maria in a scene from Twelfth Night and, as of this morning, stage managing Taming of the Shrew)

Bonus: (current update on how the bujo is looking on the outside + cute little beaded bookmark I made that im using for decoration and commonplace spread on costume concepts for Maria based on my own wardrobe)

Not terribly eventful. My friend had a launch for his... 3rd publication, 2nd solo publication (his second publication was a horror anthology he ran, this time was his second solo collection of short stories). I got the library record for the speed stacking cups (such a throwback, used to be so popular when I was in primary school over 15 years ago my god). I made another little zine, did a whole bunch of training, and surprisingly didn't go overboard at my town's largest annual second hand book sale.

April was a busy month. It was the school holidays, so of course the library was full of children. This month had some fun little flip outs (escapril poetry prompts that I did none of and work's school Holiday Programme). We have mimikyu from Pokemon Go, Tumblr Snek, birthday celebrations, I made a poetry zine, had a visit from the neighbour's cat again, and spent ANZAC afternoon doing tarot readings with a friend.
