“ouch.” mabel replied and adverted her gaze from him. she hated the part where she had to try to tell someone what she was thinking. nothing good ever came from it. “guess i deserved that one huh?” it wasn’t anything new though. what he said, she had heard from others before. “i just wanted to see you, to see how you were.”

everyone always doubted him. rightfully so, especially when it came to his addiction. a slow sigh fell from his lips, looking down on his hands in front of him. “ it was the last i had, i’m out now. ” it was a bad excuse but it was true, he was totally out after that. abel knew what he had promised her, he had promised to get clean. “ i will do this. ” a hand reached out and was placed on top of hers, his eyes meeting her gaze. “ i’m just struggling a little... that’s all. “

“i would say i’m self aware.” whens he moved closer, he wrapped his arms around her, keeping her in place in front of him. “i just want to be sure you know who’s begging who here. i think you couldn’t stay away from me even if you tried.”

“i never said you owe me anything.” she had just been trying to ease up the mood but it was clear that it wasn’t going to work. “can’t you see it wasn’t about you? i didn’t think you would care if i stayed or if i went.” she was never nailed down to one place, one thing, one job... one person. it was easier to keep it that way.

“you still awake?” he asked, seeing them sit in the darkness in the living room. abel sat down on the couch. silence as he thought about what to say. he wasn’t good with finding the right words. “what are you thinking about?” the male turned on one of the table lamps. // @sundrizzle​

her comment made him smile even wider. it truly was an entertaining game to play with her. “oh, so you turn to lying now.” he teased, dark eyes looking at her. “what else can i say when you’re begging me to come over?” both of them knew just how bad they wanted each other. no one else could compare to her, ace knew that. 

“then fucking tell me, who’s gonna love you like me? huh?” grin spread across his lips, “who’s gonna touch you like me?” it was nothing new, the other always threatened with it being the last time. it was never the last time. “that’s why you always call me.”

“i sent you a postcard. you didn’t reply.” she said with a scoff. it had been easier to send a postcard than actually pick up the phone to talk to them. “i guess i should’ve told you before i left huh?” her mind was always in a million different places at the same time, so she left without a goodbye. mabel thought it would hurt less that way. // @sundrizzle​
