Good morrow. I am in search of guidance. When I started reading DC it was by haphazardly throwing myself into the deep end with 0 context and trying to figure it out as I went, which turned out "fine" but as one does I kind of ended up accidentally on purpose pigeonholing myself into the BatCorner. I've read plenty of other stuff, but I don't have nearly as comprehensive a grasp on any other corners of the universe, and I'd like to start amending that. So I was just wondering if you have or know of any reading recs/lists for Arrowfam stuff? Or just what a good starting point might be. If it's not a bother. Have a nice day :)
Hi!
Not a bother at all, I can link them! Most of the reading list posts have links that will take you to the readcomicsonline page. These are the ones I could find just now, but the original posters of these recs have more comics recs and you can also check out @/arrowfam-events or @/nonbatdcu for recs.

King shit, honestly. I should read Green Arrow
If you want a reading list, weâre happy to give you one!
Eh he still reads like White Guy Who Thinks He Knows to me half the time since I read him as a kid. And even with this I was a bit âOh so youâll be mayor for the gays but not spend your billions also helping them legally be married all over the country? How about governor? Or campaigning for them as Green Arrow?
IDK Green Arrow writers maybe heâs saving the fucking world from aliens and space from other aliens while Green Arrow yells at him about how much the homeless need homes. But doesnât do a fucking thing about it himself as Oliver Queen
I mean itâs worth noting that Ollie is NOT rich for the vast majority of his publication history. During the OâNeil era (that panel you added) he literally canât afford bus fare and is still giving away his last dollar to those he feels need it more than him. Throughout the Grell era he works retail. This is not a man of means, and if you truly believe he is either you didnât read the comics youâre sharing panels from or you just believed someone who lied to you.
Ollie also actually does quite a lot as Oliver Queen when he does have money, such as funding and running a youth center to protect homeless youth, working against police violence, and actually like involving himself in his community and the politics of his community.
We also see him acting as a friend to the queer community during the AIDS crisis in the Grell run- going after a gang whose initiation involves homophobic hate crimes and being someone that gay people feel safe enough to be open with and out to. His well known care for the queer community being a plot point in Green Arrow: Quiver even.
Maybe read some Green Arrow comics and youâll calm down.
Thank u for rb the a reading list and posting a link to another𫥠I shall be getting to know Oliver Queen.
Of course!
One of the other mods reblogged it but feel free to dm me @thequiver if you have questions or want to ask for more recs!

Been getting a lot of notes lately from people saying they should start reading Green Arrow because of our memes. If you want a reading list or recommendations of where to start or links to comics, feel free to shoot us an ask or a DM! Iâll even reblog a few reading lists in a moment.
This goes for any member of the Arrowfam too. We have a bunch of reading lists saved.

đč oliver queen reading recommendations: carrd edition đč
since the last one was primarily in response to people asking me how to dodge the (imo) bad writing, i thought i would make a newer, more neutrally worded shareable version! there's still parts that are tba, and i'm sure to go in and move things around some more, but the meat of it is all here, so i figure it's ready to be posted.
please reblog, show your pals, or however else you choose to share it. if you can afford it do please also consider leaving me a tip! i'm saving up to move out of a toxic situation and would appreciate any help.
thank you, i hope you enjoy these!
Who is...Oliver Queen | Green Arrow? - A Reading Guide
Oliver Queen is a hero from DC comics that was first introduced in 1941. Ollie is a character based firmly in the folk hero genre with an unmistakable heavy-handed influence from the Robin Hood mythos. Ollie is best known for being canonically a socialist, befriending assassins and "villains", and for having his most common enemy be the police. He is the father of Roy Harper (Speedy, Arsenal, Red Arrow), Connor Hawke (Green Arrow), Mia Dearden (Speedy), Tim North, and Robert Queen II. He's the older brother of Emiko Queen (Red Arrow). And the long-time partner of Dinah Lance (Black Canary) and Hal Jordan (Green Lantern). Ollie is often at odds with other heroes, which makes his epitaph the most fitting way to sum up his character in that he always makes the right enemies.
A reading list with totally legal links is under the cut!
