Honestly you could tell me that Volt doesn't love [Player] and I'd lowkey believe you. Because it does not matter how you act with Volt really. You can reject all his advances and his flirting, you can talk shit about Eddie to him, but if you play Eddie's days and interactions right you still get a love ending. The Eddie & Volt route is primarily dependent on Eddie and his feelings about [Player]. It's interesting from a character perspective, because the conclusion is kind of Volt cares about Eddie's feelings and wants above like literally everything else. (Quick aside: Honestly I think this is mostly because of meta it was originally only Eddie reasons. (fun fact when I originally played their route I got a text/audio bug that gave me a version of their positive end states where seemingly only Eddie survived the power reset.) Also the fact that their route is a duo route but most player interaction happens with each of them individually rather than together.)

I think one of the things that gets me about Volt being the Host of the Breaker Box and that being a persona that needs to be very charming and even flirty is that I couldn't tell you where the line where Volt goes from charming [Player] because that's what he does as the host (and [Player] is a very important person indeed) to holding actual affection for them is. An interesting line (from their hate ending) Volt says is "It could have been so easy... why couldn't you just let me entertain you?! [break] All you had to do was love me, or fear me, either would do. And I would have given you everything you ever wanted." These lines are fascinating to me. Because what does 'fear me' mean in this context. He could have given you everything you ever wanted in the context of loving him is easy. He could've given you his own affections, maybe even arguably Eddie's, but what does he give you what do you want in the context of fearing him. Maybe it's still his affections and 'intimidated by' would be a more accurate description of feelings. Eddie's affections is also still a possibility, especially with Volt making him seemingly disappear in the hate ending and the meta context of only Eddie's days really mattering. I don't know.
