robby and ahmad's lil fist bump !
sometimes i get sad about the fact that the fandom is so wrapped up in made-up drama with no basis in reality and discourse about fanon that there is almost NO conversation about the ACTUAL political parts of the pitt. so much criticism and no actual discussion of the pitt’s points about ice, about misdiagnosis of women and poc, about the fucked up insurance systems in the us, about deportations, about child abuse, about mental health, about suicide, about addiction, about federal funding cuts towards programs that benefit people of color, LIKE. you wanna talk about the pitt’s politics but instead of talking about ANY of that you wanna make shit up instead oh okay
i love that donnie is the capybara of the pitt, all his coworkers love him.
he’s chill af working with langdon, treating him normally even after his 10 month long haitus; hes got all his nursing coworkers nagging at him to watch his heath with all the junk food he was eating during the at shift cause they want him taking care of himself better; he’s a phenomenal teacher to the pittlings and med students; and even grumpy robby lets him go home on time instead of sticking around like the rest of the staff.
but to me the most obvious example of him being someone everybody rocks with is park the shark. he gets the nod™ from the surgeon that everyone else on this floor dreads working with
he’s just too tuff. i love donnie, that’s my boy
i have found another thing that gerran looks like. like they both have the same polite smile and kind eyes

robby is now dating dennis and he starts going to the gym with abbot and everyone thinks ‘oh his midlife crisis hit and he’s trying to be as fit as he was when he was younger’ or ‘he’s probably embarrassed of his body standing next to his fit, young lover’ and they’re all wrong. robby knows dennis goes feral for his soft stomach and he wouldn’t take that away from his boy.
no, robby is only working out cause he needs to be strong to carry dennis and fuck him standing up and he can’t do that with weak lower back muscles and mediocre stamina
i wish i were rich because that way i could comtinue being Insane & Useless and it would be fine like not even a problem
i think this captures the defining pathology of the collective social media psyche right now. we are in the thrall of people who are wantonly cruel but who also demand to be coddled at all times in every way
if you don't do anything else today,
Please have a moment of silence for the people who were killed instead of freed when news of emancipation finally reached the furthest corners of the american south.
have another moment for the ledgers, catalogs, and records that were burned and the homes that were destroyed to hide the presence of very much alive and still enslaved people on dozens of plantations and homesteads across the south for decades after emancipation.
and have a third moment for those who were hunted and killed while fleeing the south to find safety across the border, overseas, in the north and to the west.
black people. light a candle, write a note to those who have passed telling them what you have achieved in spite of the racist and intolerant conditions of this world, feel the warmth of the flame under your hand, say a prayer of rememberance if you are religious, place the note under the candle, and then blow it out.
if you have children, sit them down and tell them anything you know about the life of oldest black person you've ever met. it doesn't have to be your own family. tell them what you know about what life was like for us in the days, years, decades after emancipation. if you don't know much, look it up and learn about it together.
This is Juneteenth.
white people CAN interact with this post. share it, spread it.
victoria javadi is one of if not the most interesting and incredible subversion of the genius archetype i have ever seen.
first off, she's a woman and poc, which you don't often see in "genius" characters in film or tv.
second, while it is clearly shown how intelligent she is with solving cases (ex. black widow bite case in s1),she is not perfect at everything at first. she faints after seeing a bone setting procedure for the first time and sometimes she is not good at being subtle or nonjudgmental (a skill often needed in healthcare.) but she learns and works on those skills as the series progresses.
third of all,she is an incredibly likeable character. this is more of a personal opinion, but i often find genius characters really unlikeable as they are often very uncaring of the characters around them, very self-centered,etc,etc... but javadi is none of those things. it is shown repeatedly in the show that she cares deeply for her patients and her co-workers. she is not some stuck up genius, she is kind and caring while also being very intelligent.
tl;dr javadi is a well written and well acted character and i can't wait to see her in emergency psychiatry in s3!
to add on to this, i find it so refreshing that while javadi is a genius so obviously she’s smart, but she’s also incredibly emotionally intelligent.
so many geniuses we see in media are men who are incredibly self-centered about their intelligence act like if they aren’t the smartest person in the room then they’ll die, and like op said that makes a character extremely unlikable. but javadi is an young woman who is empathetic to her patients and her coworkers, even if she’s not perfect. she still has biases and comes from an privileged background, but she’s only 20 years old and learning and experiencing life after no doubt being sheltered her whole life, so i’m excited to see how she grows.
she’s also very humble for someone in her position, she could openly draw attention to her nepotistic connections to add prestige to her image, but she actively does the opposite. for the most part she’s has been in the ED just learning and acting like a normal med student, the only real time we see her show off her intelligence is when she’s in competition with ogilvie, who lowkey deserved the humbling. she’s very smart, but she doesn’t feel the need to flaunt it like he did. and she actively draws the line between her and her mother because she doesn’t want people to view her as only a nepo-baby; she worked hard to get to where she is now.

trans dennis coming from an extremely christian family and his older brothers are matthew, mark, and luke. he was originally named joan cause his parents wanted to keep the new testament naming scheme going, but when he left he chose dennis as his new name
season 3 is gonna psych us out by starting with a pov shift from robby to whitaker. dennis is locking up robby’s house and walking to the pitt on a chilly, snowy november morning. we follow his trek to ptmc as he’s bundled up in his nifty street team jacket, and as he’s walking to work a car pulls up next to him and rolls it’s window down, and the pov shifts back to robby since he’s now back on his way to work like in the previous seasons.
—————————————————————————
“hop in kid. i’ve got the feeling that we’re heading towards the same place.” robby says.
a foggy cloud escaped whitaker’s mouth as he gasped in surprise at the car that had just pulled up next to him, but after seeing that it was just robby he quickly gets in, eager to get out of the cold. he looks over the man as he pulls away from the curb. robby was wearing his usual black scrub top and work pants, olive green today instead of his brown or black ones.
“i thought you’re first day back was tomorrow?” dennis said, buckling his seat belt and relaxing in the warmed cabin of the car. he pulled off his gloves and beanie, starting to overheat from the dry air being pumped into the vehicle.
robby’s eyes were locked straight ahead, driving carefully down the freshly plowed roads. “yeah it was supposed to be, but that locums doc that was supposed to be on shift with al-hashimi just got in a car wreck on their way to the hospital. they said they’re fine, but their car is totaled.”
robby turned down a street and stopped at a red light. dennis saw that they were only a few minutes away from ptmc.
“that sucks, but i’m glad they’re okay at least.” dennis looked at robby. “are you ready to jump back in the saddle, dr. robby? i can’t imagine you missed the hectic energy of the ed while you were relaxing on your sabbatical.” whitaker looked at the older man.
robby raked a hand down his jaw, scratching at his beard as he answered, “honestly, i did miss it.” he returned his hand to the steering wheel as he signaled to change lanes. “maybe not the noise or the frustrating patients and their families,” robby chuckled, “but i missed helping people. driving around and experiencing life outside of the pitt helped though. it made me reorient and look at my life from a different point of view.” while he was talking they had arrived at the staff parking structure, and robby pulled into one of the doctor reserved spots, killing the engine. the older man turned to dennis, “and don’t tell abbot,” he motioned the young resident closer, a conspiratorial smirk on his face, “but he was right, i really did get so bored while i was away.”
whitaker smiled, he understood robby perfectly.
“but, one of the things i really missed most was everyone we work with. life just doesn’t feel the same if i’m not getting ribbed by dana and jack. i’m excited to see what new wagers are on the betting board. and,” robby reached out and clapped his hand onto whitaker’s shoulder, “i missed teaching you guys. i’m sure the other attendings did a fine job, but maybe i’m a little possessive. i like knowing that my teachings helped guide you into being the great physicians i know you can be.” robby pulled his hand away only to slowly return it to readjust a curl that had apparently gotten messed up when dennis took off his hat earlier.
dennis held his breath, scared that robby would pull away if he realized what he was doing. the loud sound of an alarm on his phone going off disturbed the intimate moment between the two men. dennis startled and robby pulled his hand back quickly. dennis slipped his gloves and hat back on and slid out of the car, grateful for the sharp sting of the icy wind since he could explain away the sudden flush on his cheeks as coming from the cold air and not the charged moment he had just had with robby.
—————————————————————————
robby closed his eyes and let out a sigh as the passenger door shut. he steeled himself and got out of the vehicle more sedately, pulling his backpack from the backseat and locking up the car. they both turned and made their way to the ed.
dennis broke the silence first, “well, i’m glad you’re back too, dr. robby.” he waved robby closer like how the attending had done earlier. “and don’t tell abbot this, but you’re my favorite teacher to learn from. he’s great, so are al-hashimi and shen, i’ve learned a lot from all of them, but i feel like you and i just…” he trailed off, looking for the right word. after a moment, he found it. “i feel like you and i just click, you know?.”
robby looked at the young man in front of him as they stood outside the entrance to the emergency room. the rosy red flush painting his cheeks and the bridge of his nose was so endearing to robby. but what most distracted robby was the red of his lips, starting to chap from the cold and dry air. robby wondered what they’d feel like under his thumb, dry, but not yet starting to flake. he makes a mental note to swipe the younger man a packet of petroleum jelly from the supply closet.
he readjusts his backpack on his shoulder, nodding his head as he tries to get his mind back to work appropriate thoughts. “yeah kid, i know.” he steered the shorter man into the building. “now, lets get clocked in. it wouldn’t be a good look for your chief attending to show up late on his first day back, now would it?”
robby missed a lot during his time off, but what he didn’t tell anyone is that the one thing he truly missed above all was the feeling of the young man’s warm body underneath his palm and the looks of adoration that whitaker seemed to, unbeknownst to himself, give robby.
his shift hadn’t even started and robby had already gotten a dose of both of them, so he knew that no matter what kind of shit the day threw at him, he at least had this. not to mention the boy was going to go home with him tonight after their shift. whitaker says it’s to pack up his things to fully move out now that the older man is back, but robby is wondering if there’s a way he could persuade him otherwise, maybe just for a while.

sepideh moafi at HBO’s “the pitt” season 2 emmy fyc event • june 09, 2026, los angeles
i’ve seen a bunch of people say that if shawn hatosy got nominated/won sexiest man of the year that noah wyle would write abbot off the show or limit his screen time💀 which like, that’s not how writers rooms work, first of all but more importantly-
big dawg, nw would be first in line to vote for him, let’s be so fr.
why do so many people in the fandom think this is a high school popularity contest and not two men who have known each other for 20 years being glad the other is finally getting the accolades they deserve? have these people never had friends? i promise that real friends want the best for you and will celebrate with you in your triumphs, not sabotage you like they seem to think is happening with these two men (which isn’t happening).
also, can they please stop with the idea that nw is jealous that shawn hatosy is the one that everyone is thirsty over? robby is obviously not written to be a heartthrob like abbot is so i don’t understand why they think nw would be pressed about this. also, nw has had his fair share of thirsty fans since the 90s and robby has reignited people attraction to him, just check tiktok for the sheer amount of fancams and edits for this old man. im sure he’s just fine with the amount of attention he’s getting.
and people weird parasocial obsession with these men has been actively driving the cast away from social media which is such a shame to see. like i know that shawn seemed to be a big proponent of mohabbot and i’m sure he’s was sad to have her written off the show prematurely, but i have to imagine that seeing scores of ‘fans’ constantly shit talking and calling for your friend and castmate to apologize and write her back in despite him not being the showrunner who makes those decisions.
like some of the shit i saw from the ‘fans’ during this time was unhinged and i honestly can’t blame any of the cast for wanting to distance themselves from a fan base that seems so hell bent on alienating anyone who doesn’t do everything perfectly and according to what they as a fan base wants.
