One thing I don't see a lot of MD fanfic writers (and artists in general tbh) include in their works is putting some focus on sounds the drones make. Which is something I do occasionally try to include in my own works because I like to emphasize that they are machines that do in fact casually emit sounds in ways that don't always mimic humans. And I think that makes them cuter.

Beyond what you hear in the show though. Like imagine you were actually next to one of these drones. Passively, they'd likely make some sort of humming noise if you listened closely. When they move, you can hear their servos faintly whirring or perhaps loudly depending on the type of movement and their condition.

I want to imagine the sound of their bodies clanging together when they hug or the scraping sound that happens when their metal rubs on each other. I want to imagine the sound of their fans picking up speed when they get flustered, excited, mad, or just overheating. The little beeping sounds they canonically make are adorable and a step in the right direction, same with the little electricity spark in episode two but I wish we saw/heard those more both in canon and in fan works.

I know its sometimes hard to smoothly implement these into writing or drawings in a way thats not too distracting or jarring, which is why I don't rlly do it as often as I wish I did (I also just fucking forget sometimes lmfao) but I think the idea of the subtle little sounds they'd make is rlly cute. It has some potential to make some cute/interesting moments.
