Oh boy, the Knocker, where do I even begin with this guy.

➤ The Knocker is like the very manifestation of loneliness, terror, fear. He’s been in isolation for the entirety of his existence. It's hard to put into words what his purpose even is. He might as well have none.

➤ Additionally, anger. The only thing the Knocker's known has been nonstop violence and bloodshed. It's safe to say he has absolutely no experience with any other emotion that isn't inherently negative. And on top of all that, he's not human either, so with all these in mind it'd be exceptionally hard to connect with someone like him.

➤ But alas, he is still able to feel emotions, to feel desires, to long. And what he yearns for the most is genuine companionship. To be with someone who flips his world upside down and becomes his new purpose for life.

➤ While that may be true, getting to such point is easier said than done. When he first takes notice of your presence you instantly become yet another subject of his violence. He IS misery itself and will make sure to inflict it upon you as much as possible, because that's all that he is for.

➤ But is he though? The more he observes you, the more and more he wants to be in your presence. It makes everything feel a little bit more bearable with someone around. And if you begin to tolerate him being so up in your personal space? Yeah, you might give him existential crisis, you're shaking the very foundation of his being.

➤ If there's one thing he hates the most in this world it's being ignored. He much rather you hate him, that means he's on your mind at least. But treating him like he's barely there? Like he doesn't exist? That sets him off more than anything. He gets far more aggravated and violent. He becomes relentless, chasing you more frequently and for longer periods. He breaks your windows and doors and makes sure it's loud enough to instill fear within you.

➤ And if he can't find you? May lord forgive you cause he won't. His aggression increases ten folds, his mental stability is out the window. Anxiety and anger eat away at him. He can't handle being away from you for so long, he can't bear to be by himself again. The thought of you running away from him permanently almost makes him hyperventilate.

➤ As long as you have your attention on him in some way, that's enough for him. Even if, again, it's negative. At least he's on your mind and not forgotten. If his existence leaves any form of impact on you then he feels accomplished enough. And if you actually do something for him in return that further acknowledges his presence? He's simply done for.

➤ Give him gifts, some flowers, or bake/cook for him and watch him fall into the deepest depths of love for you. You've rocked his world and shook his core. He has a purpose now, and that is you. And now that you have him wrapped around your finger, be prepared to have the most devoted and passionate lovesick fool as your companion.

➤ He also brings you gifts too! He's actually the most reliable one out of the trio. He's not... great at being a good partner. Old habits die hard, and for someone like the Knocker who hardly understands human connection that's exceptionally true. He's very attentive but in his own strange way, often times you don't understand how he feels or what his intentions are. But it puts a smile on your face when you come home from a long exhausting day of mining and escaping monsters to find a bouquet of poppies on your bed and food in the furnace waiting for you.

➤ He's overly protective and WILL keep any and all danger away from you even at the cost of his life. BUT he does so from a distance and without directly intervening unless absolutely necessary. He might play cold and nonchalant about it because it's just in his nature to not be good at expressing emotions, but trust that he'd set the world ablaze to keep you from harm's way.

➤ He's deeply afraid and insecure, contrary to popular belief he doesn't express jealousy through being possessive or through anger. He's the type of jealous to pull back and distance himself, he lets only himself suffer the painful thought of being replaced and forgotten until he feels sick in the stomach. Pleaseeee reassure him. It's going to be really scary and intimidating to approach him at first but trust me, he loves you so much as soon as your fingers brush against his hand all that anger vanishes and it's replaced with a deep ache to worship the very ground you walk on. You're all he has in this world, please don't break his heart, it's a lot more fragile than you think.

➤ Ultimately the key to his heart is making him feel needed. You softened the cold, cruel shell wrapped around his heart and now he's putty in your hands. He might still be a jerk and is really intense, but he's still yours and you're his. Kiss him on the lips and watch him melt, like you're the very meaning of his life, like the universe itself created the two of you to fit each other like puzzle pieces. Without you he feels incomplete, and so do you.
