Been a crazy few months, especially this October so far. I always do inktober but mixing that with work and doctors appointments has been a challenge, especially with my arm pain lately but I’m still enjoying it. Sketching and drawing just make me feel better.
Originally I went to the doc for some issues I had with my hands, they sent me to the wrong hospital (3 1/2 hours from home) and we had to reschedule, I made it to my appointment yesterday and got told they’re worried I might have MS, so in a few days we have to come all the way back for an MRI on my brain and in November I have to get an EMG on my arms, all in the same city.
There’s no telling what will come of these, so I’m not sure how the rest of the year will look. My doc did pretty much say if my emg says carpal tunnel I’m in for surgery.
Updating just to feel I’ve said it, again without family freaking out when I don’t know anything for sure yet and won’t for awhile.
I got my MRI on the 17th, my doc called me the next day and told me they found a lesion on my brain. It could be the beginnings of MS or an old brain injury.
An old injury isn’t out of the question, I have had some major falls throughout my life starting with flying off a horse when I was 5 and going through a barbed wire fence.
MS also wouldn’t be a surprise. My dad’s brother has it, my brother has an autoimmune disorder and all through my dad’s side is a slew of the same story. So, yeah, fun stuff.
Anyway, my EMG could show more signs or prove it could possibly be something else. That’s coming up on the 7th and I won’t have a neurology appointment for a long time. I just keep reading that I might need a spinal tap at some point… which sounds less than funky fresh, but that’s life for you baby.
