Despite how much I wrote for the steps, this is a very simple recipe!! You can use your orange candy for edible spells, gifts, offerings, or to add into other recipes. I will later make a post detailing how to properly make chocolate bars with it, if it’s up it’ll be linked [here].
🍊 𝑰𝒏𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔: 🍊
2 large Oranges - ✧ Good fortune, luck, divination ✧
1 cup of sugar - ✧ Sweetness ✧
~½ cup of sugar to coat the peels, this is up to taste.
Water

First, wash and peel the orange. For that, slice away the top and bottom of the orange, then make a strip down the middle: you will get a long rectangle type deal! If you want to to reduce bitterness, you can scrape away the white part (this is optional, though). Then, cut the oranges into thin vertical strips, around ¼ inch or 1cm thick.
Boil the peels in water for 15 minutes, then rinse them with fresh water and repeat.
Add the cup of sugar and then fresh water to a pot then bring it to a boil, until sugar is dissolved. At that point, add your peels, reduce heat, and simmer for 20/25 minutes. Be sure to stir every once in a while!
Remove bit by bit, letting the excess syrup slide off the peels. And don’t throw away the syrup!! You can use it as a sweetener for stuff, just like honey. Delicious.
Coat the peels with sugar. Then, spread them on a wire rack and let dry 8-24 hours (one day is best) And bam! They’re ready!!
Put them in a ziplock bag and you can keep them in the fridge for a month or freeze them to conserve them for longer!
