// He’d finally found him. Billy- his Billy was finally here. He didn’t know how to feel. Part of him was so relieved at the sight of him unharmed and the other part hated the feeling. It was a reminder of the distance he forced between them. //
“Hello.”
@stabyourstarsthroughmyback
"Parrot—" The avian turned to see the other, feathers ruffled by the moment he heard the king's voice. Billy walked closer to him.
He let one of his hands rest on his sword's holdster, lightly fiddling with it while his eyes inspected the man in front of him.
He squinted for a second as he did his best to push away a thought, then he let out a chuckle, "Found me before I got to you, hm? At least you're still in one piece. How did you even get here?"
“I guess I just looked around.”
// He shrugged it off, looking back at Billy. He took in the sight. Sure it’d only been a few weeks, but he’d missed him. The protection he’d offered, of course. //
“You’re still here, too.”
Billy grinned widely, his head tilting. " 'Course I am, a little trip can't kill me, but I meant the, uh, world," He looked around for a moment as he spoke.
"—Because I have no idea how I got here. Like, c'mon, this clearly isn't our server. I even found another of you at the kingdom."
“Ah, I’m not quite sure how I got here either. I’ve heard talk of some kind of portal?”
// He remembered the few ‘other versions’ he’d seen around. //
“I’ve met him too. I’ve even met another version of Theobald. A much nicer version. There’s even another one of you.”
// “And I’d bet there's another Wifies.” //
“This world seems to be a sort of ‘swap’ of where we come from.”
"I met that Theobald." The bird gave a small nod, his eyebrows furrowing. "Both you and the other Parrot are kings, so you're not swapped with anyone, though. I'm surprised this one is still alive, seeing how his knight is."
He didn't know how to word the feeling in his chest when he recalled the other Parrot telling him about his Theobald. It did not matter, Billy had better stuff to focus on.
"So, king, what's the plan?" He let his hand relax and rest at his side, squinting at Parrot. "We need to get back before Cindercrest does anything, they must've noticed we disappeared by now..."
// He felt a stab of guilt in his heart at Billy’s words, ‘You're not swapped with anyone.’ God he would leave him in an instant if he knew, but he forced his face to stay neutral. //
“It is a wonder. I’m quite impressed with how well this Parrot seems to have held up with such an… unexceptional bodyguard.”
// He stilled as he thought. He had almost forgotten about Cindercrest… //
“Ah, Cindercrest. We should probably work on going home, yes.”
// Part of him wanted to stay just so he could observe this strange universe, but if Billy wanted to go home, he supposed it was probably for the best. //
“I wonder how Zoe’s holding up.”
Billy let out a stiffled laugh and spun on his heel to begin walking away, somewhere. He doesn't look back, Parrot would certainly follow.
"She'll be fine as long as she doesn't screw up her fighting." He waved his hand in a small gesture, stopped after a second and stayed quiet.
Zoe might be dead by now, considering Cindercrest's recklessness. He can assume Parrot had the same thought.
He decided to continue his reflecting outloud, "Best case scenario, they're taking her in as leverage for when they find us, which they won't, until we get back."
"Right now, we need to find a place to spend the night. I've been staying around this area, but I'm sure the king wouldn't like to sleep out in the middle of nowhere," Billy teased.
// He followed Billy, walking slightly behind him out of habit. He had never been here before, so he trusted Billy to lead the way. //
“Yeah… you did train her pretty intensively, after all.”
// There was still a small part that doubted it. Sure Billy was a capable and dedicated mentor, but he’d only trained her for a week or two and she was up against some of the strongest fighters. //
// Of course he wanted Zoe to be okay. Despite his wishes he’d grown pretty slightly fond of her. He hoped she was just a hostage. Well, obviously he hoped she was neither, but he wasn’t stupid. He knew that was unlikely. //
“Good point. Although, I can’t help but feel a little bad we just left her.”
// He smiled slightly at Billy. //
“Oh come on, you should know by now I don’t care that much. I’ve been sleeping in a random place anyways.”
Billy never understood the appeal of getting someone like Zoe as an ally. He knew she was smart, but so was Parrot, and what they needed right now was power in strength.
It was not his place to complain. His only job was to protect Parrot, and nothing else. Then why would some person the king felt pity about be immediately put as a right hand for him? Did she even understand how much he—
"That's not our fault." He turned his head to eye Parrot, then paused to fully face him. His feathers were slightly ruffled, and it took him a moment to readjust himself, but he returns the gesture with a playful smile.
"Choose where we should set camp, then. This place is safe, besides some mobs..."
“Sure… still…”
// He figured it would probably be best to drop the subject at the sight of Billy’s ruffled feathers. He could never seem to figure out why Billy was always so hesitant whenever Zoe was mentioned.
She had quickly become a new perspective for Parrot. Sometimes a mirror that reflected his own ideas back at him, and other times completely new ideas he never would have thought up on his own. //
“Well, if it's safe here, that sounds alright to me. We could still scout out a certain area around to see if there’s any safer spots. Just as a precaution.”
// The best way would probably be to split up and search a small area, but this spot could also do just fine if they took shifts. //
"Got it," He hummed and walked off—not too far from where Parrot had stayed.
Billy hadn't bothered on doing proper scouting when he was on his own; sleeping on trees was easier than setting up a camp. Plus, he would never fall off.
It took him a couple minutes to come back. "Nothing we should worry about. I don't think many people come around here."
// He went off a little in the opposite direction as Billy, coming back after a minute or two to wait for him. //
// Parrot saw Billy come out from the spot he’d previously left and took a step closer. //
“I see.”
// Parrot figured sleeping in shifts was the safest bet. He used it so often for a reason, after all. He figured Billy hadn’t been getting the best sleep considering the unexpected changes. //
“Should I take the first shift?”
// He’d finally found him. Billy- his Billy was finally here. He didn’t know how to feel. Part of him was so relieved at the sight of him unharmed and the other part hated the feeling. It was a reminder of the distance he forced between them. //

// He had returned after hearing rumors of his Billy talking to Theo. //
// Was this Theo always this… pathetic? //
“Theo?”
theo doesn't startle at the voice, just slowly drags his eyes up. this wasn't his parrot, as much as he wished it could be. he just wanted his parrot back. the cockatiel clung loosely on a broken spyglass. "what could you possibly want from me?"
// He took in the sight before him. Was this a bad time? //
“I had heard that the Billy from my world had come to talk with you.”
// …This was definitely a bad time. //
“Did you happen to know where he went?”
"i don't. remember," theo drops his gaze, looking tired. he just wanted to be left alone to mourn. theo clutches the spyglass tighter, spinning it in his hand. "i don't like that guy, but he's better than mine i'll tell ya that," what theo wouldn't do to have had his billy turn out just a little kinder, just a little less against friendship.. maybe then theo wouldn't be sitting here waiting for a bird that would never arrive.
“Oh.”
// “Damn.” He should probably leave, but he couldn’t help but feel a little mad at the comment about his Billy. //
“Hmm. He comes off like that, but once you get to know him, he’s a nice guy. He’s loyal at the least.”
"yeah yeah... what were you here for again?" theo was hardly paying attention to anything, really. he was just trying to shrink down everything before the grief could consume any more of him . maybe if he ignored the world long enough, he'd get to see the only person he'd actually loved again .
“Oh, that was all. Thank you anyways.”
// He almost turned away before he thought of one more thing to say. //
“Good luck with your… situation.”

I WOULD NEVER LIE!!!!!!!!pleasedontkillme
“Fine… but only if what you’re saying is true.”
i think i saw your Billy talking to this world's Theo..maybe he knows where Billy went after?
“Really…? If you’re lying, you don’t even want to know what’ll happen.”
If you can describe your Billy in metaphors or just straight up describe him, how would you describe him?
“I don’t know why you think you deserve to tell you this- but fine. I’ll tell you. Billy is like a fire, in a sense. He can rage and destroy uncontrollably, but if you “use” him correctly, for lack of a better term, he can bring light and maybe reveal a new point of view. As for a direct description? I would say he’s not too overly trusting, but he’s certainly loyal. To me at least. He spends too much time training in my opinion. He needs to pay more attention to himself.”
Tell me about ash in your universe pls im very interested pls plspls
“Why are you so interested in Ash?? All he does is hide like a coward while he watches her do all of his dirty work for him.”

Alrighttt, I kinda need to make a serious post here as there's been a problem recently with some blogs butting into roleplays or crossing boundaries and interacting with others in ways that take away from their characters.
To put it simply, PLEASE do not join plotlines or make alterations to someone's character without permission. If someone has an ongoing story that you want to be involved in or you have a plot idea that could alter someone's character, please communicate that out of character and get permission before doing so, such as using tumblr dms.
Not only can it be awkward for the parties involved, but it can also be really frustrating when someone who shouldn't be involved ends up ruining another blog's plans.
This is part of why we have a discord server, as well. Being able to plan out plotlines and ask questions on a different platform before taking it to tumblr is something we all find convenient and also leads to less risk of problems like this.
Communication is the key to good roleplay and a lack of communication can seriously ruin it for people. This is all meant to be fun and I don't want anyone to be hurt by this. ^^'

"[...]One of the first things I taught you was that having someone or something you care about, makes you weak."
Info below cut
"I've been hearing about you. Information spreads fast. I wonder, did your universe have one of me?"
“There is, actually. What would you like to know?”
"Whatever you can tell me. I'm not picky."
“Hmm. Well, most recently, your counterpart has been ruling over the Nether. Quite annoying, actually. We can’t get potion supplies unless we purchase them.”
"So same as here then, huh? Guess some things never change."
[Ferre hesitates for a second.]
"What about Clown?"
“Clown? I don’t know as much about him, but he seems to be an… advisor for my universe’s Ferre. And occasionally a messenger of sorts. Quite threatening though, I must say.”
