Black feathered wings beat a tired glide Matching the ride of wind in stride The songbirds tune so soft and sweet Coaxed the crow to coil course clawed feet Upon a branch in the tree she sat He tried his best to match His incessant caw broke her sweet song His voice course, flat, just dead wrong But he screamed his annoying voice for only her A song with lyrics she never heard And had no love for I am but an ugly, black bird With a voice like dirt But I want in your world Why can't I sing the chords That open doors In your heart? Birds of different feathers yet I can't part With the idea of crawling in your heart.
