to anyone enduring a depressive episode: it’s ok. you’re not being lazy or selfish. your productivity doesn’t define or devalue you. you’re coping. you’re doing the best you can, and that’s ok!

Shout out to everyone whose mental health is dependent on routines in this time of everything being shut down, moved online, or shrouded in complete uncertainty.

Friendly reminder: when people say ‘as long as you tried your best’ it doesn’t mean ‘the best you could possibly have done ever’ it means ‘the best you were capable of at the time.’ Sometimes ‘trying your best’ is just getting out of bed in the morning. Just because you weren’t working yourself to the bone doesn’t mean you weren’t trying your best. 

today, I realized how accurate this saying is - “if someone’s absence bring you peace, you didn’t lose them”. keep that in mind.
