Prompt: Colors of You and Me

Summary: Sasuke finally lets love back into his life as colors begin to fill his once black and white world. Contains smut.

A/N: This was inspired by OneRepublic’s song “Colors”. Italic text is the lyrics.

Redefining their relationship definitely took time. Unsure of what the future holds for the Uchiha, Sasuke suddenly questions the purpose of life. The purpose of his life. The shinobi world has corrupted him, damaged him, tainted him. Tainted all of them. They are no longer those naïve genins they used to be. Having experienced pain and suffering has brought forth new perspectives in life, and in their purpose as shinobi. Now the question for him lays, what’s next?

As he is once again lost in his way, not knowing where to go or what path to take. But Sakura once again embraces him and pours him with her love. She lets her walls crumble again, never letting him go, she lets herself love him entirely.

If there’s one thing Sasuke has learned, it’s that he’s loved. Loved by his late parents, by his late brother, by his comrades, and by her.

Once again, Sasuke’s life is not so black and white. Once again, she is beginning to add colors.

Prompt: Clear Skies

Summary: Highschool AU. Sasuke is acting “weird” around Sakura, and her friend Ino tries to get her to think straight.

A/N: This is kind of based from this multichaptered story I’m developing.

“I just don’t get it Ino!” Sakura exclaims in exasperation. “I mean, he’s just outright acting weird I’m telling you!”

“Uh huh.” Ino listens as she munches away on her teriyaki bowl. She can’t believe she has to spend her entire lunch break, listening to her friend’s troubles when the answer’s right in front of her.

“I was standing right next to Shikamaru, right? And then he just swoops in right between us. Like literally he had to squeeze himself right between. I mean what the heck is his deal?”

Prompt: Constellations

Summary: Sarada learns how to read the stars from Sasuke.

A/N: Disclaimer: I can’t read stars lol. Also, I’ve always wanted to write more papa!sasuke.

“That’s called Orion’s belt.” Sasuke points at the three stars lined up together.

“Wow! What else what else? Show me more!” Giggling, Sarada can’t contain her awe when she looks up to the sky adorned with billions of stars.

“You see that one, that’s Ursa Minor.” Sasuke traces his finger in the air, seemingly drawing an imaginary line between the bright lights.

“Woah.. Papa’s amazing!” To little six-year-old Sarada, anything her father does is inspiring. Sasuke revels at her daughter’s reactions whenever Sasuke passes on a piece of knowledge from his experience. He wants to give her the world and all of its wisdom, to make sure she doesn’t travel the same path he did, to make sure she doesn’t stray into the darkness like he did. And thankfully just like her parents, she’s always the eager one to learn.

Markings Chapter 4

Sakura did not see her friends much for the next week. There were supplies to pack, reports to write, communications to send, and travel arrangements to be made. She worked late and ate with the other medics.

But after the sky darkened and the camp grew quiet, she slipped into Sasuke’s tent. He was always waiting for her. In the mornings she left before he awakened to tackle the day’s work.

Sasuke was against the headboard, while Sakura was in the bathroom. They had taken a hotel room for the night. Sakura was eight months pregnant, traveling was difficult for her and as soon as they could they took a hotel room. Even if Sakura told him she was okay, Sasuke refused to listen to her and always made sure they did not spend the night in the tent. They were still far from Konoha and he hoped they could come back to the village before the birth of their child.

Sakura walked out of the bathroom, wearing a tank top and shorts, which she found most comfortable for sleeping. Sasuke looked at her. He found her so beautiful. He had always found her beautiful, even when they were at the academy. But the pregnancy made her radiant. His gaze fell on her stomach and he smiled. Seeing her like this made the fact that they will have a child even more real. He had never seen anything so beautiful than her belly becoming round as their child grew. Sakura looked at him.

‘Why are you looking at me like that ?’ She asked.

‘Because you are very beautiful.’

Sakura blushed. He always had that effect on her when he said that sort of thing.

‘Right now, I don’t feel beautiful.’

She joined him in the bed and they lay down. She tried to find the most comfortable position she could. Sasuke put his hand on her stomach and stroked it.

‘I love you,’ he said. ‘I love you both.’

Sakura kissed him.

‘We love you too.’

They kissed again and Sasuke felt the baby kick. He smiled, like every time he felt it. They both fell asleep, a refreshing sleep, before taking to the road to Konoha the next day.

To make up for their spar, Sasuke picked up Sakura’s communal cooking obligations for the next week.

One clear night, Suigetsu appeared midway through dinner.

“Where were you?” Karin demanded. “Sasuke won’t be cooking forever!”

To everyone’s frustration and confusion, Sasuke was the best cook of the group. No one dreamed of skipping his dinners.

Suigetsu held up his hands. “I was looking for something!” Two bottles clinked in his loose grip, clear liquid sloshing inside.

Karin stood and swatted his shoulder.

“You bastard,” she said fondly.

Suigetsu winked at her. Karin rolled her eyes and popped open one of the bottles. Suigetsu tossed the other to Sasuke, who caught it one-handed against his chest.

“Cheers,” Karin cried. Sasuke passed his bottle to Sakura to take the first sip.

Sasuke frequently catches himself associating people with colors. Maybe it’s an infliction brought by his ocular abilities, or a quirk picked up from the idleness of self discovery, but all the same, he started playing the game, and he won’t be able to stop anytime soon.

Naruto, of course, is orange. Hideous, brash, loud. Too much so it hurts his eyes sometimes. A stall of tangerines in Rain country reminded him of the blond that Sasuke almost retched in front of the old man holding the shop. Vulgar, vulgar orange.

Orange is the color of friendship. The color of bonds once, twice, thrice severed, but always tied back together again. Each time stronger than the last. It’s hard on the eyes, but Sasuke finds comfort in its warmth.

Bathed in the darkness entirely but partly showered by the moonlight creeping in through the window, Sakura sniffs. The sound of her wheezing cries, muffles through her palm tightly covering her mouth. Waking up with a sharp jolt and being drenched in sweat from head to toe, is something she has experienced in the past, but has presently forgotten how to deal with the tyranny of it.

Dreams— nightmares, have haunted her in the past too, but the memory of their potential remedy has withered so utterly well, that after spending years immersed in euphoria, she can’t find herself being good at combatting any of it, precisely like she did before. Even if the ilk of her past worries and her current anxiety, is quite similar, the tears trailing down her cheeks don’t seem to halt.

Is it his retreating back, which her lonesome mind keeps picturing over and over again? Or his countenance when he turned to take one last look at her? Or that fallen tear he failed to hide? She tightens her grip on the photograph held in her hands, breathing in deeply to cease the crying but fails, as expected. Trembling legs, somehow, straighten up to lift her troubled figure, another hitched murmur slips off her tongue. She places the picture frame carefully on her bedside, arching her back enough to stabilize the pattern of her breathing.

Prompt: Drink Me Under

Summary: Sasuke and Sakura battle each other in a drinking contest. Let’s just say the loser was not satisfied.

“Cheers!”

The four shinobis gather around the table, clanking their glasses of beer. Kakashi-sensei grills another piece of meat from perhaps their sixth plate. Sakura will always be amazed at the amount of food Naruto can consume. She places a piece of cooked meat on Sasuke’s plate before downing the rest of her plate.

“Hey Sakura-chan, I’ve always wondered.” Naruto inquires. Sakura’s too focused on her food that she doesn’t even spare a glance towards him.

“Hm?”

“How much alcohol can you drink?” This, however, catches her attention. She thinks for a moment before answering.

“I don’t know I haven’t really tested it out.” Naruto’s grin grows wider.

“You should test it out tonight! I’m curious as to how you compare with Sasuke.” He turns over to look at Sasuke with a devilish smile.
