Produce 101 S2 finally came to an end on the 16th, and my first pick Park Woojin ranked 6th! I am so happy. I still vividly remember deciding to finally stan him. I didn’t dare hope for too much considering that when I began pooling all my support for him, he was still deep into the 70s. Then yesterday happened and he garnered over 900,000 votes for the final round of voting. He came so far and I’m so glad to have stuck by his side.

That said, now that my son is safely in the group, I am so close to betraying. Ever since the first episode, I found Ong incredibly attractive. Something about him was so boyish and manly at the same time. Now that I no longer just stan Woojin and I stan the entire group that came out of the show (Wanna One), his visuals have recently shaken me up again and I’m so ready to betray :C

I never quite found Woojin to be attractive. I stayed to support because I didn’t want to watch on the sidelines while people slept on him. I had to actively promote him on various social media sites. He was my baby, considering that he’s also a few years younger than me.

so im actually so fake and didn’t update this blog for like a year. i think i got hellllllla fucking sad after nif ended—which it did, i just didn’t watch the ending bc i can’t bear the inevitable heartache—i went on a crusade to write a jingyan x su zhe fic. that fic never materialized into anything substantial. there may have been two to three pages of it until i lost all motivation to write (as always). things just went downhill from that point on. 

i also stopped stanning twice. after wanting to fangirl over blackpink, many onces called me a fake fan for not staying loyal to the girls. and i just didn’t feel comfortable being part of a fandom that was so rabid and insecure. they saw bp as a threat despite the fact that twice just sold 100k of their first ep and cheer up became a national sensation.

i also became disillusioned about twice. while i do think that they are great girls and i will always have a soft spot for jeongyeon, the image they have created for themselves is so lackluster. it’s easy to compare their sales and achievements to snsd, but the sincerity of their music and story seems so superficial. whereas snsd rose above immense hatred and years of living in the wonder girls’ shadow, twice immediately shot to fame buoyed by the fandom’s belief in them to become the next national gg. fans jumped the gun too fast. sones, while braggarts themselves, never hoped for an ngg title until the korean people themselves began titling them thus.

as for now, im currently following produce 101 season 2. i don’t follow any kpop group in particular. i’ve also lost interest in bp. as for this year, i’ve tried following svt, but their humor leaves a foul taste in my mouth. i do like their recent comeback. vixx has also recently put out a stellar comeback and i wish more people paid them attention.

now that im pushing almost a decade of following kpop groups, seeing them rise and fall, none have kept my attention for more than a few months. twice came close and i legitimately was happy to have a reason to come back and properly support a group once again. however, the environment the group, the company, and ultimately, the fans created drove me away. 

interestingly enough, i think this season of produce 101 will give birth to a boygroup that i will stan. im really liking all the bnm trainees and i love their personalities, so i’ll see where that heads to.
