PLEASE listen to people are more disabled than you. Please. I'm so tired of seeing "but I'M disabled and can still ____, you're just lazy" everywhere. Or seeing "it's not that big of a deal if you're denied these accomodations... it's just less convenient/makes it harder" from OTHER DISABLED PEOPLE. You're just ableist. Please listen when people tell you that they're not getting the help they need.

when you ask people to stop engaging in harry potter fandom they act like you've asked them to pull the plug on their own ventilator after murdering their entire family in front of them. like holy shit my bad i didn't realise that you formed emotional attachments that were that unhealthy

"but it was my childhood" okay cool you're an adult now "but i love it a lot" okay cool there are other things to love "but it helped me through a hard time" okay cool you can find other ways to cope "but my ship/my character/my fic/my fanart/my--" someone has asked you to stop engaging with a woman's intellectual property because that woman is actively contributing to the literal genocide of trans people in her country and beyond. her actions have emboldened murderers, legislation meant to deny life-saving care, and ruined livelihoods and safety of many people. what could possibly be more fucking important. truly. i get that it's hard to let stuff go, because it is. it's very fucking hard, especially when you love something very deeply. but your personal struggle letting go of a comfort blanket is never as important as someone else's life, and that's the point we are at now, and if you are not listening to the trans people in your life and beyond that are whistleblowing this, you have blood on your hands and i will not help you wash it off when you finally look down and notice it

deriding things as performative is anti third space

im sitting on a patio at my favorite cafe rn and im hand stitching them hem of a dress im working on. and i can see why someone would say im being performative by working on something like this in a public space. but frankly theres no element of that. i just want to work somewhere that isnt my apartment. i want to be in public, i wanna chat with strangers, i wanna see the world. it’s nice to hang out somewhere that isnt my home!

what i mean is when you say people are being performative you discourage them from doing shit they love in public. and thats no way to foster the world we want to see.
