request from @arabellawolfheart :Â I hope youâre having a great day. I was hoping if I could request a sweet pea imagine, (Y/N) is pretty quiet + an artist whoâs best friends w/ Jughead b/c she doesnât believe the south side is bad, she doesnât understand the hatred for them, when they come back to the school She befriends SP, Toni and Fangs. She defends them when a teacher makes a comment about SPâs tattoo, Toniâs hair and Fangâs tattoo. Accidentally spilling that she finds SPâs tattoo one of the many attractive things about him.
A/N: thank you for requesting my love! i absolutely loved this idea. and i hope youâre having a great day as well! -đđ
p.s. i listened to ânancy mulliganâ by ed sheeran while i was writing this.
Art and Jughead Jones were the only things keeping you sane right now.
You were totally swamped with schoolwork for the new year, and between volunteering to teach art at the elementary school most afternoons and fighting with your parents about how you are best friends with a Southside Serpent, you barely had any time to just chill.
Thatâs why this day was so precious to you.
It was finally Saturday, and in fact, the first Saturday since you had returned to school for the fall semester. You had no school work to finish and your parents were out of town. You were currently perched on the bench in your makeshift art studio sculpting a figure out of modeling clay. Jughead lay stretched out on the floor.
âSo, (Y/N), what do you think about the Serpents going to school with us?â Jughead suddenly asked.
âOh, I love it, Jug. What a good opportunity to get to know some new people!â you gushed.
âIf only you werenât too shy to talk to them...â he mumbled in response. You threw a pencil at him. âOw!â
âMy shyness is not my fault. And besides, I wouldnât even know what to say!â Your mind immediately went to picturing the tall and handsome Serpent that had completely rocked your world. Within just a few days, he had become the muse for all of your art pieces, which was shocking since you had mostly stayed focused on drawing illustrations for Jugheadâs writings.
Now, normally you wouldnât even have looked in the direction of a new boy. You werenât really a romantic and hadnât ever really cared about relationships. In fact, the first and last relationship you had ever had was with a sweet and pretty girl in eighth grade. Too bad things didnât end well. Now every time you saw the sweet and pretty girl around Riverdale she would be too busy with her friends Valerie and Melody to even notice you.
Too bad things didnât end very well between you and Josie McCoy.
But times had passed, and you had moved on. You had spent the next few years completely focused on your art and hadnât even had a simple crush.
âI know youâre thinking about him.â
âWho are you even talking about, Jug?â you laughed.
âSweet Pea! I saw the way you stared at him from across the room in Biology on Wednesday. I know you like him, (Y/N)!â
âSo what if I do? Itâs not like heâd ever pay attention to someone like me. I canât even speak to him.â
That day, the day that had started off fantastic, soon became the first day that you regretted being so quiet and shy.
About two weeks passed, and you were still looking at Sweet Pea with goo goo eyes. He had barely spoken a word to you, but even looking at him made your heart hammer against your chest.
Little did you know, he felt the same way about you.
Jughead, Fangs, and Toni had to listen to Sweet Pea gush about the quiet girl in his art class that was so beautiful. He spoke of her hair and how pretty her eyes were, and how every time she walked by him her scent filled his nose with the sweetest fragrance.
You were both whipped for each other.
Neither of you made a move though until the last Friday of September.
Sweet Pea, Toni, and Fangs had walked in late to English. The same English class you were in. They were all laughing and carrying on until the teacher cleared her throat.
âWould any of you like to tell me why you were late?â she asked.
âOh, you know, we were just hanging out and lost track of time,â Sweet Pea mumbled.
âOf course. I expected nothing less from a group of thugs like you.â
âExcuse me?â Toni asked angrily.
âAnd you miss, Iâm fairly certain you are not supposed to have such an abominable hair color on school property! And you young man,â she gestured towards Sweet Pea, âare not supposed to have that beastly tattoo on display! Complete thugs!â
Before any of the angry Serpents could say anything, you leapt out of your seat.Â
âHow could you say something like that? They were just late to class! You have no right to call them thugs!â you exclaimed.
âMiss (L/N)...â the teacher started.
âAnd thereâs nothing in school policy that says you canât have colored hair. Just look at Archie Andrews! His hair canât possibly be that red!â
Across the room, Archieâs face went beet red.
âAnd I just happen to think that Sweet Peaâs tattoo is one of the sexiest things about him!â you finished, but not before covering your mouth in shame at what youâd said.
âAll of you... OUT OF MY CLASS!â
You trailed behind the Serpents as they exited the classroom. You tried to walk away, but Sweet Pea grabbed your wrist and brought you back.
âThat was really cool what you did for us back there, (Y/N). Jughead said you were cool and now we have a reason to believe him,â Toni said with a smile. Fangs gave you a high-five and afterwards, he and Toni walked away, leaving you alone with Sweet Pea.
âI-I didnât mean what I said back there...â
âOh really? And here I was, planning out outfits that showed my tattoo in my head,â Sweet Pea responded.
âIf you havenât noticed, (Y/N), Iâve been wanting to take you out on a date for weeks. I even transferred into your art class just to see if you would talk to me.â
âI know. Jughead tells me that youâre shy. But Iâm hoping to change that, princess.â
Sweet Pea leaned down and pressed a sweet kiss to your cheek. Before walking away, he slipped a piece of paper into your hand before shooting you a smirk. You unfurled the paper and read:
Meet me at Popâs tonight at 7?
You couldnât wipe the smile off your face for the rest of the day.
