There is absolutely no incestuous vibe whatsoever. The father and son have an intense and complicated relationship that is justified in the novel for very specific reasons.

But my rotten mind took it in that direction, and if you look for signs (even if they are not the author's intention), I think you will find them.

I don't know what to say because I think the prose is quite appropriate for the genre: affected, ridiculous, grandiloquent. Which is to say, a lot like a bad fanfiction. It reminds me a lot of the kind of serialized novels that used to be written in 19th-century Mexico, which I read during high school. Although it's not a poetic story, in the sense of affectation of language, it's a pretty powerful story, whose strength I find in the narrative strategies and the mythical power created by the author.
