This is primarily an academic accountability blog, so here's a bit about my studies:

Major: Medical Laboratory Science Class: Third Year / Senior Favorite Subject: Microbiology (or Hematology) Future Plans: Work in the lab then DCLS

I will also talk about my life a bit. Especially my hobbies (when I have time for them).

Sorry for not posting much lately. I have been having a really hard time and I just needed to take some time to myself. I am still doing okay academically. I took a blood bank exam on monday and it went pretty well. I've been doing my homework, but not necessarily all of my extracurriculars. I think I am starting to slip up and miss things, so I need a bit to lock in again. I'll be back posting today.

September 25th, 2025: Day #031 of senior year

☕️ Chai Latte ; 🎧 Troubleman - Electric Guest

I forgot to post this yesterday. Oopsies. I'm excited for this week to be over because I really need some rest. I hope I can fully recover this weekend and debrief on what went right and wrong. I have some ideas but I need the time to fully flesh out everything going on in my life. I will definitely feel better after that. Debriefs and reflections are my guilty pleasure.

Tasks Complete: - Lots of event logistics - Studied for immunology exam - Caught up with someone I haven't seen in awhile!! - Did some research for my project (Study Hours: 6)

September 24th, 2025: Day #030 of senior year

I didn't study much today because of my exam, but I think the exam went well! I was super nervous but now I'm not horribly worried anymore. I am definitely excited for the weekend. I need a lot of rest. I am going to still be stressed for the rest of the week because keeping up has been difficult, but I'm getting there. I know I can do it.

Tasks Complete: - Went to a group study session - Went to my immunology professor's office hours - Took my biochem exam!! (Study Hours: 2.5)

September 23rd, 2025: Day #029 of senior year

Crazy realization, but I actually have to go to my biochemistry class and put in the same amount of effort as my other classes in order to do well. Isn't that weird??

Tasks Complete: - Studied biochemistry for 5.5 hours - Looked at my own blood in hematology! (Study Hours: 6.5)

September 22nd, 2025: Day #028 of senior year

It's Monday and I'm already so behind. I think cramming this year was kind of a mistake, but there's no going back now. My to-do lists keeps getting longer no matter how much I check off. I'm starting to think I shouldn't allow myself back in my room until my tasks are done because I get too distracted. I might start camping out in the library from now on.

Tasks Complete: - Watched a few biochemistry lectures - Did my homework - Studied hematology - Booked library room for tomorrow (Study Hours: 5)

September 21st, 2025: Day #027 of senior year

Today I locked in so hard I could barely leave my desk. I studied from 9am to 4pm and I genuinely do not know how that happened. I had a pretty refreshing afternoon after, and I'm surprisingly not super tired.

Tasks Complete: - Wrote out my objectives for the week - Finished some objectives - Studied for blood bank exam next week bc I'm so behind - Walmart run because I ran out of toilet paper (Study Hours: 7)

September 20th, 2025: Day #026 of senior year

Room? So clean. Google Drive? Oh so organized. Brain? Clear. I had such a wonderfully productive day, and I'm so relieved. Long day in the spreadsheets though. I do wish I studied more. I'm thinking of starting the 75 medium challenge, because 75 hard would be too much right now. I didn't do much besides digital cleaning today, but sometimes that's all you need.

September 16th-19th, 2025: Day #022-025 of senior year

Sorry for not posting for a few days! I have been kinda running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. This weekend I get a break, though, so I can really reset and calm down. I am a bit stressed about my practicum now. The application is submitted, so the hospital I'm matched with is completely out of my hands now. I am just strongly hoping I get placed anywhere. I'd be devastated if I didn't. It probably won't happen that way, but worry always gets the best of me. I've been falling a bit behind in classes, but I have the weekend to catch up. I'm just so stressed ugh.

September 15th, 2025: Day #021 of senior year

Screaming, crying, throwing up, pulling my hair out. I used to think it was corny to hate Mondays and be excited about Fridays, but I think I get it now. Tasks are just catapulted at me and I have no choice but to thug it out. I am so tired already. I fear I am not tormenting myself enough. I have got to lock in!!!

September 14th, 2025: Day #020 of senior year

Second migraine day in a row :( Many such cases. I watched Harry Potter 5 and 6 with my friends, and did some homework after taking migraine meds because I needed to feel productive. I want to set myself up for a good week! I might start making weekly goals too. Probably in my journal and not on here though.

September 13th, 2025: Day #019 of senior year

Sorority recruitment is so stressful. I am so glad I have no homework due on Saturdays because I was definitely not in the place to do it. I ate a full pack of oreos and nothing else and got a huge migraine. I was so excited to meet everyone though! It's a lot of stress and logistics, but making new friends and gaining new sisters is so worth it.

September 12th, 2025: Day #018 of senior year

Another day of being oh so tired. I feel very accomplished which I love, but I still feel very behind. I need a day to recoup but because of sorority recruitment stuff I can't have a day to myself this weekend. Next weekend I will take a veryyyy long nap.

My first round of exams is always the hardest, because I'm still getting used to the class. Here are my key takeaways from my two exams today:

-✮ I need to start using Anki every day, and study until I'm done all cards -✮ Exam review needs to start a week before the exam, with oldest material reviewed the most, and newest reviewed before/after class -✮ Studying should come first, and non-class commitments should come after -✮ I need a more efficient way of structuring time: using Google Calendar more strictly and sticking to it -✮ I need to bring my to-do list everywhere -✮ I should stop glorifying the fact that I am so busy, and take time for myself
