to fly

               his lips pull back as he releases an aggravated cry, quickly pulling back up to the air less he suddenly crash through the multiple stands of a street market. the akumatized is a faded blur as they move through the crowd, and daichi --- PAVONINE --- loses sight much too quickly. 

     biting his lip, he glides back to earth, the people below parting in excitement. nobody seemed to notice the akumatized, and that strikes a pang of worry. but he is all smiles as he shoos the crowd away and flits to the alleyway he last saw the creature. 

       “where oh where has the akumatized gone?” he murmurs under his breath, withdrawing his bow.

he probably should have allowed the class to leave ten minutes early, as it was the last of the day, but he didn’t want to risk bending the rules when he was still being considered for hire. short-term subbing was great in the way he was able to teach different subjects, but long-term had a larger salary, and that was always, always the more desirable option.

              still, he promptly forgot he was the one who had to grade the numerous papers he was now trying to shove in his pack.

         “i can already tell you’ll be in a horrible mood later tonight,” yuume quipped as they peeked out of the front pocket of his pack. 

“oh hush, hush.” he wouldn’t deny the possibility of his mood turning sour, as there was always the chance of it happening when it came to grading, but he wasn’t going to give his kwami the complete satisfaction of agreement. “we’re still in the building, so could you please stay hidden and quiet so no one discovers you?

“yuume, please, i beg you, i spent my 3/4ths of my salary on carrots this week. can you stop eating them all at once?”

           “i need these to survive, daichi! to S U R V I V E !!!”

    “well, i need money to survive, which in turn helps you survive, so can you ---- QUICK, HIDE!”

it was impressive how quickly he could throw the edge of his plaid shirt over his kwami in order to appear completely at ease in front of the person approaching ---- wait. OH NO. were yuume’s feet sticking out?!

                                     (        this is a joke.        )

scrolling through his phone, the slight grimace couldn’t be disguised. of course there was a surge of pride at the fact ladybug and chat noir saved the city once again --- master fu did choose the right people --- but the addition that ladybug had saved not just one cat, but three, easily informed daichi of her whereabouts when she was supposed to be in class learning about chemistry.

shaking his head, daichi closed the article and pocketed his phone as he walked into the boulangerie patisserie. perhaps he could catch sight of the girl to remind her of class and the importance of education.

       ( which could be stated as hypocritical coming from him,             but ---- but  there was a time where education was E V E R Y T H I N G )

                        “ah, by chance are there any macaroons being sold today?”

❝ i’m not saying it wouldn’t be FANTASTIC to show these kids what i’ve learned, but....don’t you think there are too many secrets? don’t you think the risk is too great?

                                      ❝ i don’t know if i’m ready. ❞

his eyes darted to master fu as the creature?                                                                    --- animal??? ---                                                                                               THING floated before him.               its gaze was soft, knowing, and yet that didn’t calm him down at all.

       ❝ i don’t mean to be rude, but you lost me at: YOU WERE CHOSEN.      i don’t remember being chosen as part of the job requirement??? ❞

narrowing his eyes, the young man groaned.

         ❝ MASTER FU, doesn’t paris already have two miraculous holders                saving the city from devastation?! why am i here if not to relax? ❞

      the old man smiled, and yet --- oh. the boy’s frown disappeared,    and he swallowed at the silent answer that was given.

            ❝ master fu, ❞ he began, and, oh, his voice hadn’t sounded so soft in years,                                 ❝ are you sure that you want PAVONINE to return? ❞
