An album is released (comprising of solo songs),barely gets any promo or airtime.Another album gets released (this time a Japanese one) and half the people don’t even know it got released.A full tour is in progress and there’s been no video (except the koogleTV video) ,no promo,no advertisements,no interest whatsoever shown by the management in trying to get the news of a tour out there so much so that fans had to take things in their hands and people actually gave out free tickets.An award show that “ honors outstanding achievements and international contributions of Asian artists in television, film and music” (source: Wikipedia ) happened and went away and we got nothing.One of their artist is actually starring in his first ever drama series,and they can’t even bother to make a video about it (thank God for the drama promotion team who is working very hard to showcase all the actors starring in the show)
Other companies milk these opportunities.A new Japanese album?It comprises of their older songs?So what?Let’s make a video series about it to generate public interest.
Another album???This one comprising of ALL NEW SOLO SONGS?????Let’s make a docu-series or a reality show focusing on the work put in by the artists so that they get the recognition they deserve.That’s how this industry works.
I try very hard not to say anything negative on this blog but this is ridiculous.Also there’s been zero updates on a huge statement this company made.The statement was regarding a very serious topic and maybe that is their reason for keeping it under wraps because there were a lot of other people involved but why release a statement like that at all if you have nothing new to add to what the news outlets were already saying????
How can your heart not break when you see your artists struggling??The same artists who have worked so many years under your name and worked very hard.The same artists who sold out halls in seconds and now are barely getting any kind of positive feedback.They are your artists.You should respect them and build them up.
I can say I am sorry for being such a miserable and poor sport but that would be a lie.I am mad.I am more heart broken than mad honestly.However I AM sorry for putting this piece of pessimism on your dash (if you are still reading it).Unfollow/block this blog.Whatever you want.
