[And for a thousandth time everything was in place, but it have done little to subside her anxiety. Only as the dawn arrived did she feel the tension leave her shoulders a little as the sun beams chased away the night.

She still had a couple more hours before Tariel would come back from the construction so she started killing time the only way she knew how. She has set up a trap and was patiently waiting for some unfortunate rodent to get caught in it. Keeping her eyes on the string she did her best to not pay attention to the heightened heartbeat that was not her own. Dozing off and appearing near her again would not be ideal to say the least.

A couple of hours and three rodents later the celebration finally started to quiet down. Tariel came about carrying his axe. He greeted her with a kiss on a cheek.]

"Hi Riri. Did you wait long?"

"Only since the crack of dawn, I couldn't sleep."

[He gave her the look of an older brother, that just caught his sister coming home after sneaking out of the house.]

"I know, I know but I had a reason this time"

"And that would be ¿? "

"That's not something I should gossip about."

"What?"

"You'll understand later, I promise"

". . . I still don't approve of that 2 to 5 sleep schedule. And you promised you'd change it to something healthier."

"I know, but I really couldn't sleep this time."

[He sighs heavily] "Fine. At least let me know next time so that you don't spend the whole night alone, deal?"

"Deal. Have you invited everyone?"

"Yes, Zainab, Koka and their families, Malkuth, Tiferet and Poyel. I didn't get to meet Rami since she was still busy on in the Heart Chamber so I hope Koka told her where we're gathering."

"Good, so now we just have to wait"

[Tariel hummed in agreement and set besides her, letting the spider rest her head on his shoulder. Only thanks to the string were they able to interact with one another outside the village but today might be the day Ariadna finally figures out the ghost tangibility laws and helps their whole village become more functional outside it's borders.]

Ariadna gestures to it and turnes to face everybody.]

"Welcome to the Picnic area. I will spread put some fabric above the flowered part so if you've brought something, bring it over there, in the meantime everybody else, please make yourselves comfortable."

[She smiled and went to prepare the spot, in the middle of the clearing, right next to the flowers. Once she spread out the cloth she brought and placing her basket on it she excused herself to check on the perimetry.]

"After he had approved of my loyalty to our Cold Mother when the rot had been cured, it felt like that chapter was officially behind me, but now because of those godless wolves, my role and Yorabba's role have reversed."

Eira: Hello Mrs.Ariadna and Mr.Tariel! Eira: I don't know where mama and papa are so it's just us for now! Eira: Also I bought a friend!

*Naomi gave them a wave*

Asriel: I got these too!

*Asriel lightly toss a bang popper against the ground away from people's feet....and ghost tails*

"Hi kids, Before I forget, give me your hands, I'll tie a magic string around your wrists. It'll protect you should you be in danger."

[Tariel on the other hand instinctively grabs the handle of his axe. Before letting go of it once he located the source of the sound]

"Asriel, next time yell something like 'Fireball!' before throwing them, alright? Just to give us a heads-up"

*Asriel said as he put out his hand a second behind from Eira, letting Ariadna tie the golden string around their wrists.*

Asriel: Does Naomi need one too?

*Before Ariadna could answer, Keru and Aza were giggling in the background with Gadreel in tow.*

Gadreel: Hey! My folks will be with us one second they are preparing some things!

[She signs the other children to come closer and ties the string around everybody's wrists. Then she approaches Malkuth and before tying the string to him teases him:]

"Those rags really don't suit you, Malkuth. That nasty spider will scare all the girls away." [she thinks for a second] "and boys."

"The silk windings on my body are not a fashion choice;" *he told Ariadna.* "Following my ritual suicide, my body was wrapped skin-tight with silk to be preserved since I was one of the few sheep who 'willingly gave their lives to avert the prophecy', at least that's how the Old Faith saw it." *He brushed the silk wrappings that were taut over his arms.*

"Yeah, I know the preservation techniques of my kind. But I don't know why you are so eager to cling to it. The sight of bodily injuries are nothing new in Woolhaven. My heart still aches for all of your group, Especially Chesed, poor guy couldn'y even speak properly upon arrival. Yet, in your case, I see no reason to still keep these constraints."

[Her husbands voice seems to have brought her back from whatever state of morbid curiosity she got into.]

"Ah, my bad. Sorry for overreaching. But nontheless I'd still want to know the reason for your . . . Descision."

"Riri"

*Gabreel turned his head, noticing the tension before waving the other kids.*

Gabreel: Uhm, Gabreel: Hey guys lets go over there.

*The other kids followed him, leaving the adults to their devices*

"Promise you won't press Malkuth further"

[Ariadna turns to her husband.]

"I promise"

"Alright."

[Tariel flies over to the kids to make sure they are not without supervision]

"They're a reminder to myself;" *Malkuth answered, staring into the purple eye on the spider emblem for a second.* "They remind me that I have seen the bottom of the abyss that is the loss of faith, and they remind me to stop myself falling down that pitfall ever again." *He then clenched the spider in his fist.*

"I'm sure you have a reminder of a lesson learned the hard way." *He mused.* "But perhaps you are right. Maybe I should ask Yngya to bless me with a different look."

"Each of my scars is a reminder, even hidden, they still tell many cautionary tales. But I will never let my mistakes define or constrain me. You're a good man Malkuth so don't let yours do that to you either."

[She smiles at him and finally ties the string around his wrist.]

"No need to keep suffering even after your death, especially for the mistakes you've already been forgiven. Learn from them and be a cautionary tale for others. By occasionally letting the scars show."

[As she says it, she tilts her head to the left and pulls he shoulder backwards to show a round scar stretching near above collar bone.]

"That is why I don't sleep on the ground anymore. Now we're even. Secret for a secret."

[She shifts back and finishes tying the string with a little flower instead of a bow.]

"Now we just have to wait for the others to show up"

[The string on her and Malkuth's wrists flash twice, and Tariel arrives a minute later with the kids.]

"Hello, everyone...!" *Tiferet smiled warmly, still emotionally buzzing from her dance and heart-to-heart with Poyel.*

(Koka) *She arrives with Chazaq, as well as Yorabba's and Zainab's kids, whom of which they're babysitting*

"Did you give Zain the string already?"

"Great" Ariadna turns to Koka, "then we can move out. We've found a clearing in the forest about 10 minutes away from here. That's our picnic spot. I'll just leave Zain a note to call for us once she comes here"

[The spider takes a piece of paper and scribbles the instructions for the late couple, then folds it in two, signs "For Zainab" and sticks it to the inside of the gate to the village with her web]

[Ariadna turns to her husband.]

[Tariel flies over to the kids to make sure they are not without supervision]

(Sandwiches, salads, kettle, cups with the string, vials with tangibility potion, tea herbs, yarrow, spoons, sugar, salt, plates, water, a couple of slingshots, some targets and a knife.)

[And for a thousandth time everything was in place, but it have done little to subside her anxiety. Only as the dawn arrived did she feel the tension leave her shoulders a little as the sun beams chased away the night.

She still had a couple more hours before Tariel would come back from the construction so she started killing time the only way she knew how. She has set up a trap and was patiently waiting for some unfortunate rodent to get caught in it. Keeping her eyes on the string she did her best to not pay attention to the heightened heartbeat that was not her own. Dozing off and appearing near her again would not be ideal to say the least.

A couple of hours and three rodents later the celebration finally started to quiet down. Tariel came about carrying his axe. He greeted her with a kiss on a cheek.]

"Hi Riri. Did you wait long?"

"Only since the crack of dawn, I couldn't sleep."

[He gave her the look of an older brother, that just caught his sister coming home after sneaking out of the house.]

"I know, I know but I had a reason this time"

"And that would be ¿? "

"That's not something I should gossip about."

"What?"

"You'll understand later, I promise"

". . . I still don't approve of that 2 to 5 sleep schedule. And you promised you'd change it to something healthier."

"I know, but I really couldn't sleep this time."

[He sighs heavily] "Fine. At least let me know next time so that you don't spend the whole night alone, deal?"

"Deal. Have you invited everyone?"

"Yes, Zainab, Koka and their families, Malkuth, Tiferet and Poyel. I didn't get to meet Rami since she was still busy on in the Heart Chamber so I hope Koka told her where we're gathering."

"Good, so now we just have to wait"

[Tariel hummed in agreement and set besides her, letting the spider rest her head on his shoulder. Only thanks to the string were they able to interact with one another outside the village but today might be the day Ariadna finally figures out the ghost tangibility laws and helps their whole village become more functional outside it's borders.]

"I made it, Tariel." *He nods with a small wave, his smile a brave face masking his doubts.*

"Hello. Gotta say, I am pleasantly surprised that you came and fist one at that. How are you feeling?"

"After he had approved of my loyalty to our Cold Mother when the rot had been cured, it felt like that chapter was officially behind me, but now because of those godless wolves, my role and Yorabba's role have reversed."

Eira: Hello Mrs.Ariadna and Mr.Tariel! Eira: I don't know where mama and papa are so it's just us for now! Eira: Also I bought a friend!

*Naomi gave them a wave*

Asriel: I got these too!

*Asriel lightly toss a bang popper against the ground away from people's feet....and ghost tails*

"Hi kids, Before I forget, give me your hands, I'll tie a magic string around your wrists. It'll protect you should you be in danger."

[Tariel on the other hand instinctively grabs the handle of his axe. Before letting go of it once he located the source of the sound]

"Asriel, next time yell something like 'Fireball!' before throwing them, alright? Just to give us a heads-up"

*Asriel said as he put out his hand a second behind from Eira, letting Ariadna tie the golden string around their wrists.*

Asriel: Does Naomi need one too?

*Before Ariadna could answer, Keru and Aza were giggling in the background with Gadreel in tow.*

Gadreel: Hey! My folks will be with us one second they are preparing some things!

[She signs the other children to come closer and ties the string around everybody's wrists. Then she approaches Malkuth and before tying the string to him teases him:]

"Those rags really don't suit you, Malkuth. That nasty spider will scare all the girls away." [she thinks for a second] "and boys."

"The silk windings on my body are not a fashion choice;" *he told Ariadna.* "Following my ritual suicide, my body was wrapped skin-tight with silk to be preserved since I was one of the few sheep who 'willingly gave their lives to avert the prophecy', at least that's how the Old Faith saw it." *He brushed the silk wrappings that were taut over his arms.*

"Yeah, I know the preservation techniques of my kind. But I don't know why you are so eager to cling to it. The sight of bodily injuries are nothing new in Woolhaven. My heart still aches for all of your group, Especially Chesed, poor guy couldn'y even speak properly upon arrival. Yet, in your case, I see no reason to still keep these constraints."

[Her husbands voice seems to have brought her back from whatever state of morbid curiosity she got into.]

"Ah, my bad. Sorry for overreaching. But nontheless I'd still want to know the reason for your . . . Descision."
