this ain't "fan parasocially defending their fave creators" either, I'm a casual fan and i don't feel any 'allegiance' to either side. i just can't imagine giving enough of a shit to still get worked up about the gossipy drama minutiae three weeks later.

its in the double standards that get set for certain groups of people and who it is that the blame often gets laid on first. its also in who it is that gets the benefit of the doubt the most often.

the fact that there are drawfee fans who are trying to let jacob completely off the hook while painting karina as just a helpless victim who needs jacob to protect her and onsta as a mean girl who's victimizing jacob and needs to tone it down IS a direct symptom of racism and misogyny. those are stereotypes and assumptions borne directly from racist and misogynistic biases.

thanks for pointing this out. i do agree that these are important points to keep in mind when we look at the situation given that one side is white and the other consists of 2 women of color. we should check and see if our opinions are truly based on their actions and not simply who they are.

i will however disagree that simply criticizing onsta for being vocally and explicitly shady on main is wholly racist and misogynistic. that is in fact what she had done and it isnt wrong to hold an opinion that she shouldn't be doing that.

hmm im not super sure on the racism thing but it seems like there are definitely people that have voiced out their concerns on this so you are not alone.

onsta is kinda in a bit of a unique situation, where she's not a direct party of the split but is well acquainted with both sides and also privy to probably the entire situation. and also has no obligation to strategically regulate her words or play along with any of the drawfee parties. she's not under their payroll after all, and she, like the rest of us, can express her opinion. her platform is just much much larger than ours and we can also much more safely assume that she is not speculating on what happened but in fact has a pretty darn good idea of what went down behind the scenes.

hmm i think you are definitely more on the minority here... looking at the current poll results of the future of supporting the two parties.

in terms of drifting from the vibes of the show... unfortunately i dont really understand what you mean here? Karina was a core component of the show, which is doubly true considering that in the recent year, julia (and jacob for a while) had to take a step back and so the show's vibes were more the 3 remaining hosts. to me, the iteration of drawfee post independence before the split is intrinsically tied to karina so it can't really drift?

this may be a silly thought but I wonder if that maybe means that she might end up using it for her own stream or youtube channel, cause honestly why else would she keep stuff like the stream deck (or whatever it was that they used for playing sounds on stream)

yup. imo they can do whatever they want, just keep in mind that potential responses/backlash/consequences/results of what they say and do, be it from their fanbase or from the other party.

I honestly wouldn't have any problems if It was a non amicable split for like...regular reasons but the uncertainty of knowing if there was toxicity involved and not wanting to support the wrong people if there was....I think I need to touch grass.
