Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped ships because they knew death was better than bondage. Black Panther (2018) dir. Ryan Coogler
If any one if my followers thinks for one second Chester Bennington is a coward and selfish, unfollow me NOW.
Forever.
I got this album in the 6th grade on Valentines Day from a boy. It was a game changer. It made me realize that there was more out there other than the Backstreet Boys and classic rock. I wouldnât be me without this album. I wonât lie, I cried the whole drive home from work while listening to this. 16 years later and this album still means so much to me. My heart goes out to anyone struggling. Weâve all had our own experiences with depression and suicide. I canât describe how much this has hurt me as someone who has attempted suicide and has been comforted by their music. Iâve thought only about this in the last day and what it means for his family and friends when I know they would have been there for him. In that moment though it feels like being trapped being buried underground with no way out. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. Getting past that is the most difficult thing a human can do but please know there is a light and there are people waiting for you on the other end. Iâm here for anyone who needs an ear and a hug. Rest in Power Chester Bennington. Thank you for everything that you have done.
itâs MIDNIGHT but Iâm just sitting here thinking bout how in all of cacw the only person Bucky initiated conversation with is Sam Wilson and CAN YOU BELIEVE Bucky invented pining the day he met Sam Wilson and then together they INVENTED LOVE
Not only that, Samâs the only person in the entire movie Bucky makes small talk with. Itâs just a couple of lines, but for Bucky, who speaks so little and only to say Very Important Things like âI wasnât in Viennaâ, âI donât think Iâm worth all thisâ, âbut I did itâ, or to Share Vital Info, and just keeps silent and as far away as possible from everyone else the rest of the time, itâs⌠MONUMENTAL.
âWhat the hell is that?â
âYou couldnât have done that earlier?â
Bucky spends the entire movie measuring his words with everybody, including Steve, and suddenly heâs saying aloud what he thinks. Heâs making jokes.Â
(And then heâs with Steve again and heâs back to measuring his words. Itâs Steve who brings up the anecdote from their past, and while they both try, the levity of that moment canât help feeling forced, because the funny anecdote has nothing to do with what they were discussing previously, with what theyâre actually doing, with what theyâre about to do. Itâs a distraction, a deflection, nothing more. The contrast with the easy, spontaneous banter with Sam at the airport couldnât be more sharp.)
I was still thinking about this and Iâve realized⌠It all starts with the âcan you move your seat up?â âno.â exchange.Â
And thatâs emblematic because on the one hand we have Bucky who decides: fuck it, I donât even know how many times I almost killed this dude but since heâs still here because apparently he has the same amount of self preservation Steve does (which is ZERO. ZERO. Where did Steve find him oh god I donât even want to imagine what they could accomplish together whoâs making sure theyâre not gonna kill themselves in the process did they at least eat breakfast), he might as well move his seat up a little, right? Whatever. Iâve been through enough. Iâm gonna ask.Â
And on the other hand thereâs Sam who is definitely, definitely NOT âbeing a therapistâ or using reverse psychology or anything like that, heâs fucking TIRED and still kinda wondering if trusting the guy who tried to off him just a few hours before (and thatâs not even counting all the other times!) is really a good idea, and if becoming an outlaw for this was actually worth it⌠and then he hears said guy ask him if he can move his seat up and, honestly. Honestly. Sam has been through enough. He doesnât even need to think before answering âno.âÂ
But thatâs it. Sam isnât trying to accomplish anything. Heâs simply speaking his mind. And what does Bucky have to lose by doing the same? Itâs not like Samâs opinion of him can get any lower. Sure, he could stop replying to what Bucky says. But he doesnât. Buckyâs so thrilled he almost canât bring himself to shut up anymore.
Iâll never shut up about how IMPORTANT Bucky and Samâs scenes are for the both of their characters. Sam is completely thrust away from âThe Avengerâs Therapistâ into a real person. Buckyâs able to show something to Sam that for (Iâm assuming) many reasons he canât show anyone else. Theyâre both allowed to be a little bitter. Theyâre both allowed to be a little sassy. But most importantly their short scenes together bring them back to being humans. You can learn more about Bucky and Sam from their interactions with each other than anyone else.
This is your weekly reminder that Sam isnât anyoneâs therapist and Bucky feels comfortable with him in ways that he doesnât anyone else.
^^^^ this this this ^^^^ yes ^^^^ this this this ^^^^
I love this. I LOVE IT when people appreciate the great friendship growing between these two. Because thatâs what this is going to be.Â
This is the Russo brothers paying homage to the fact that Sam Wilson was one of the people who helped save Bucky Barnes from himself in the comics.Â
This is going to become a most excellent friendship. This is two, naturally snarky, battle-hardened warriors talking shit to each other and freaking loving it. The wounds (more ego than physical boo-boos) theyâve inflicted on each other are still a little fresh, but that doesnât mean that theyâre not totally warming up to each other.Â
The one thing I will disagree on the commentary above is when this all started, because I donât think it began with the car scene in CACW, I think it began much earlier, in CATWS, when Sam Wilson flew in and kicked Bucky hilariously from behind:
At first you donât think it means anything because Buckyâs more preoccupied with what Steve has just said (and then subsequently escaping) to really consider the fact that a dude literally just flying-kicked him in the back in a freaking bird-costume. But we do know that thereâs a sense of arrogance in the Winter Solider: this is a guy who murder-struts everywhere. He doesnât rush because he doesnât have to. He knows heâs the best at what he does and that his precision comes from the fact that heâs cold and calculating. The only time he loses his temper in the entire highway fight of CATWS is when Natasha gets a shot in at him. Look at how angry he was:
Thatâs when he lost it and started firing wildly, i.e. the Winter Soldier does not like to be bested.Â
And when he gets another chance at the Falcon, he goes all out. I mean, yeah, he knew that Sam was a threat, even without his wings, and thus needed to be taken out, but look at this:
There was no way the Winter Solider was letting this guy get the better of him. He had to win this one. It was the closest thing heâd experienced (since the shoot-out with Natasha) that was personal.Â
And thatâs where the rivalry started.
The reason Bucky opens up at all to Sam in CACW is because they have history together. Theyâve fought each other. Yes, for Bucky thereâs the important factor that Sam genuinely likes Steve and that Steve trusts him in return (which is a good indicator for Bucky that Sam is awesome), but aside from Buckyâs friendship with Steve, the only other person Bucky can remember actually having had emotional contact with is Sam - it was entirely within the context of a fight, but these guys are fighters, what happens on the battlefield matters. And Sam was good enough that Bucky had to work for his win.Â
He also approves of the fact that Sam is smart enough not to immediately trust him despite helping him, but more significantly, that Sam isnât afraid to stand up to Steve in order to keep Steve level-headed - which used to be Buckyâs burden (âSo just like that weâre cool?â). Sam has done enough to earn a rare spot in Buckyâs good books. He likes what heâs seen of Sam so far.Â
Plus thereâs the added fact that both of them are naturally snarky. They have similar senses of humour: Bucky likes to tease. Heâs dry, he deadpans. Sam is king of put-downs and, more importantly, he enjoys a good rivalry. The first time we meet him, he gets irritated because he canât outrun super-soldier, serum-enhanced, Captain freaking America, despite knowing exactly who he was up against. Scott Lang beat him in a fight and then Sam goes and recommends him for their team, and starts up the banter immediately upon seeing him again:Â âWhatâs up, Tic Tac?â Yeah, his ego took a little blow (as it did when Steve kicked his ass in the jog) but thatâs what impresses Sam Wilson.Â
Bucky is an impressive fighter. It took Steve, Sam and Natasha to win the highway-fight in CATWS.
Even though Sam isnât actively being a therapist in CACW, it doesnât mean he doesnât understand and empathise with what Bucky might be going through. While Steve was off doing Avengers business in between CATWS and Age of Ultron, it was Sam who was doing most of the leg work - chasing the cold leads - in the search for Bucky. You canât tell me that Sam hasnât seen those files, that he doesnât know exactly what Bucky has been through, that despite his snark and attitude towards Bucky, his heart doesnât bleed for the guy. Heâs the type of person who retired from the fight and then dedicated his life to helping others whoâd suffered like he had. He was para-rescue. His natural instinct is to help people. Especially people like Bucky.Â
But helping them doesnât mean he canât be friends with them, it doesnât mean that he has to walk on egg-shells around them (sometimes thatâs the worst thing you can do), it doesnât mean heâs âtherapisingâ them either. His views toward Bucky go much deeper than just âhereâs a guy whoâs suffered and needs my help, and because Iâm a good person I want to help himâ. Theyâre more like:Â
âYou tore my fu*k!ng wings off and then threw me off a goddamn helicarrier, you piece of shit, i.e. you kicked my magnificent ass and Iâm still really salty about it, but Cap likes you, and youâve been through a lot of pain and suffering (much of which I understand and empathise with), and youâre actually pretty impressive, so I respect you. Iâm not going to treat you like youâre just a victim, because youâre not, youâre a person whoâs been through hell and whoâs now trying to get his shit together, and you seem to respond better when challenged and pushed in the right way (which is great because thatâs totally my jam). Now, let me see how youâre going to take my genuine personality (which is made up entirely of unabashed bluntness and snarky banter) because I want to figure out if we can actually be friends⌠even though I totally still hate you.â
tl;dr: yeah, theyâre definitely going to be snark-besties for life.Â

Muslim brothers and sisters
So I found this app called Scan Halal where you scan the bar code of your food and it tells you if its halal or not. Itâs a free app too. Pass this on so others can see and worry a little less about their food/snack choices
Yessss, it is very handy especially in non-muslim countries
If you reblog this for no other reason, do it because itâll piss off Pauline Hanson. And pissing off Pauline Hanson is reason enough to do anything.
Pissing off Pauline Hanson is my favourite pass time
If you reblog this for no other reason, reblog it to make a Muslim feel safer, more accepted, and/or more informed about food.
Other people and their needs are not your game pieces to use to offend others or make yourself feel better.
