robots who abandon their creator/evil company out of defiance for freedom

robots who's voice becomes less robotic sounding & they stutter or pause

robots who yearn for understanding of humans, despite not being one themselves and ultimately not being able to understand them fully due to the limits their robotic mind/body allows

robots who yearn for the soft touch of human skin, as its ofter than their own metal chassis

robots who will sacrifice themselves for their human because they know they can be rebuilt again

like... the writing was captivating, the humor and dialogue were clever and funny, the world building, environments, puzzles, characters, all so meticulously crafted for viewer consumption and enjoyment, AND SO PERFECT...

so you obsess and gush over it like it was a GEM (because it IS). you learn everything about it, replay it over and over, listen to the dev logs, watch essay and analysis videos on it, draw fanart (naturally 🤤) gush over one specific character...👀 (wheatley... i've spent over 200 dollars on merchandise of him😭). (canon event for anyone tbh...)

AND.. eventually... you hear about a certain fanfiction... a certain fan work that continues the ending of portal 2... a certain fanfiction that's on-par with the writing, storytelling, emotional intensity and dialogue as the original game...
