I wish i had something inspirational to say. the truth is i started posting as a shameless 12 year old who never thought she couldn't. I've been through a lot of changes over my life and with my online presence, and while there were stretches of time i wasn't sharing my work, and while i still struggle to share unpolished/messy pieces, I always came back to posting because... well, i like creating things. i like fandom. Fandom is about sharing and community and i wanted to be part of that.

I also post for me. It's cool if other people like my work, but i'd post the same with 5 followers or 5 million. there will inevitably be posts that flop or things people don't like, but the reality is you just kinda shrug and move on. don't tie your self-worth to notes, likes, or comments. No one cared about my posts at all when i first started posting- which yeah, can be a little discouraging... but if i never had 0 note posts then i wouldn't ever have 40k posts, y'know? I wouldn't have met my friends, or been in a nice relationship with my ex, or joined zines, or sold commissions and key chain and stickers, or grown as an artist and a writer.

Sure, you've never gotten a hate comment or felt a little bad about a flop post, but you can block a hater. what about the people you could meet and the opportunities you could gain by taking that first step?
