“You're so cute even as a plushie,” you say pinching his cheek and give him a big kiss on his little face, imprinting your lipstick on him and he's just so happy to have it.
You're watching TV? He's in your arms. You're playing games? He's propped up on your lap. You're scrolling through your phone? His watching you do that laying on your chest.
Before falling asleep, you gently place him next to you and put a hand on him and fall asleep nudging his little head and giving it a kiss.
When you wake up though, the next day, he's not beside you? Strange. I put him right beside me. You feel something extra squishy in your chest and pull your t-shirt/night dress collar and see Caleb in there. ??? How did he get there? Smiling in there with that cheeky smile.
You also order some cute plushie clothes for him and put him in different ones and take pictures. Put small accessories on him and he's all ready for your plushie date with him to a cute cafe.
He feels very loved and cared for since you always take him everywhere and keep him close. Loves watching you do anything. Very clingy. If you do forget him somewhere, he magically appears right next to you out of nowhere. His smile line becomes straight if you text someone else on the phone without giving him attention. He needs ALL your attention.
Rafayel
⤷ Oh boy.
Your first day at the beach together, a seagull swooped in, snatched and took flight with him between its beak. It took you a good long run and search around the beach when he washed up on the shore to you, completely drenched covered in a seaweed with a huge frown.
The next day you gave him a nice bath, dressed him all nice and decided to take him to a cafe. Correction, a cat cafe. I mean he is a plushie so it shouldn't be an issue right? Boy were you wrong. One of the cats almost put a tear on his face. Another almost tripped hot coffee on him, it was a disaster. Not just a frown now, he looked angry and scared and you immediately took him home.
You cuddled his small frame and gave him some playful nudges as an apology but it seemed like it wasn't enough because your fishie plushie was still not smiling. Tired, you called it a day, kissed him goodnight and placed him right next to you.
The next morning you find him on the floor and you swear you could almost hear in Rafayel's voice, “Oh so NOW you remember. Do you know what time it is? It's been 800 years. Jellyfishes are walkin' naked. Sea turtles-” You shake your head and quickly pick him up. If you didn't know any better, you could say his face is more frownier and angrier than before.
You pepper him with kisses and apologize and just decide to spend the day at home. You paint with little Rafayel by your side, show him to Reddie and take cute pictures of him and post them to your moments.
You sure had a field trip with his plushie form, but it wasn't so bad when you look back at all the funny memories and your gallery filled with frownie Rafayel and blurred pictures of him being taken away by the seagull. You're definitely getting a polaroid of that one.
Zayne
⤷ Zaynie came with an extra accessory, his glasses and the iconic black shades which you immediately hid away. With his deadpan expression, he looked ever so cute.
Zayne in plushie form is the cutest. Even while being a plushie he somehow reminds you of the important things. You almost forgot to take your meds when you find him near your medicine box. He will randomly appear beside your water bottle to remind you to drink water as well. Another time you found him beside your calendar where you marked the date of your period and it was...Today?! And you were right, you got your period.
You took him to a new cafe, putting the new clothes you got for him and placed him on the table beside all the cutesy desserts and milkshake. His deadpan eyes bored into you while you were munching away on the new limited edition macarons. You nudge one onto his face lightly, “Can you taste it? I'm sorry but that's all I can do.” and give his head a kiss.
You hug him to sleep but wake up to an empty bed? Huh? He was right here? Only when you move your butt, do you find Zayne. His face squished and got wider and shape a bit distorted but happy nonetheless. A little pink in the cheeks. “Did I sleep on you like that all night? I'm really sorry.” You take him in your hands and squish him to adjust his shape and hug him and kiss him.
You took him everywhere you went in a cute little bag. Your friends and coworkers were very welcoming of him and even made him a little workspace beside you, with a tiny desk and chair.
One time, you forgot him in a hurry and came back to a distressed Zaynie lying on the floor in a dark empty apartment. He looked so lonely just lying there in his dark coat (dawnbreaker?) You picked him up and cried for a good long hour and just hugged him and apologized and promised never to leave him again like this.
When you take off your clothes to change in front of him, plushie Zayne plops down onto his face to hide his face maybe. Such a gentleman even as a plushie. You prop him right back again give him a big fat kiss, staining him with lipstick. “Here, how's that?”
You have him help you choose outfits for you and he will cutely plop down on the ones he thinks would look best on you. “Zayne should I wear the green skirt or the yellow one?” Plop! You're matching green with him.
Sylus
⤷ He's a menace even as a stuffed plushie. Has that teasing smirk on his face and will appear at the most random places.
One morning you woke up and couldn't find him anywhere and when to the living room to see him on the couch? With the TV turned on as well? You don't remember turning the TV on last night. How did he- “Did you turn it on by yourself?”
Another time you left him on the bed to go take a shower. You wrapped a towel around you and pulled away the shower curtains to see him on the bathroom counter. How did he even get here? “Have you been here the whole time I was showering?” He just sat there with that annoying smirk on his face. “Pervert.”
Another time, Mephisto took him away out of sheer jealousy and you had to fight that mechanical crow to get him back and another time you left him in care of the twins and they sent you a picture of him with a gun bigger than himself “We on a mission with the boss man.” Oh no YOU'RE NOT. You immediately hurry to pick him up and give the twins a good scolding. “What if he blew up to pieces? We would never get him back again!” “We just wanted to have some fun~” They whine in unison. “Aw man it was my turn to carry him too,” Kieran says and sulks. Mental note to never EVER leave plushie Skye with the twins.
Back home, you were doing your skincare routine and saw him staring at you from the bed. “Wanna join me?” you ask and pick him up and put a tiny piece of facemask on him and add some cucumbers on his eyes. “Perfect.” He's all ready and chilling with you and you take a picture holding Sylus plushie next to your face with matching facemask and cucumbers. “We look perfect.”
Xavier
⤷ He becomes a soft being. Extremely clingy too. You wake up one morning, short of breath, to find him literally on your face. Guess being beside you wasn't enough for him, he needed to be inhaled.
Plops down on his face whenever you look away or don't give him your time. He needs your constant attention.
He was the perfect plushie for your collection so you decided to place him next to your Lumiere plushie. Worst decision ever. He did NOT look happy. The next morning you couldn't find your Lumiere plushie anywhere. “Xavier, what did you do with him?” He just looked back with those tiny innocent round eyes. Welp there goes your limited edition Lumiere plush.
Since he needs your constant attention, you decide to take him to forbidden territory, the kitchen. C'mon it's not like he's going to be doing any cooking, what could go wrong? My condolences to you. You turn around to check on the pot on the stove and find- smoke como from XAVIER'S LITTLE ARM???!!! You rush towards him and take him away from the stove. A little part of his arm became black from the burn. Oh no... You were on the verge of tears, heart almost leapt out. Maybe ordering food these three days would be the best choice.
A little bird once landed on your balcony while you were watering the plants you and him grew together and pecked little Xavier who was sitting at a corner watching. It seemed to take a liking to Xavier because it flew away and came back and put a tiny flower on his plush head. It was so heartwarming you had to take a picture. It is now your phone wallpaper.
You also read to him from his favorite book before going to bed.

You swear you fell asleep holding him and woke up in empty arms. You later found him on the couch and don't know how he got there. And another time you placed him on your table while you were getting ready and he disappeared from plain sight.??? You then found him in your closet.
You took him to a dog cafe and the dogs absolutely loved him and went crazy over him. He almost got ripped apart but safe to say as a plushie he's very flexible.
You got him a new wolf hoodie and he looks absolutely adorable in it. He looked happy too. You placed him next to your girly dolls and figurines and he fit in perfectly next to Fluttershy.
He's very soft so you rub his face and ears a lot and you swear you could feel him melt in your palms. Loves to be carried around in your bag.
Valko, you don't know how, ironically finished one of your favorite large chocolate bars all alone. How did you discover this? You found him on the kitchen counter with his face all smeared in chocolate and the empty wrapper beside him. You low-key wanted to squeeze the life out of that wolf because that was the last of your chocolate bars. Not to mention now you have to clean that choco smeared smirky face of his.
Funnily enough the second night with him was a full moon and his plushie turned into a complete wolf form. How unique.

1. When you're huddled under your blanket, covers up to your chin.
With your eyes fluttered shut, your mouth hanging slightly agape, your limbs splayed all about the mattress—Xavier thinks you to be the most wondrous creature in the world.
He stares, soft-blue eyes drinking in your existence like some dehydrated man—perhaps he's not too far removed from such a title, though, because then, his gaze trickles towards the blanket, its fabric your favorite color.
It drowns your figure completely, reaching the bottom of your chin as you snooze contentedly, fingers curled around the edges of the fabric.
Xavier damn near clenches his fists.
Approaching your bed, he finds familiarity in the action—all his favorite things in the world, right here: you, the prospect of a nice nap, you again... did he mention you, already?—and, as a seasoned veteran, he crawls onto your mattress like some soggy thing, lips curled into the slightest of pouts.
He eyes your blanket again. It looks back at him, audaciously, rubbing salt in his ever-growing wound because you look so wonderfully cozy and content while he is not. He is the furthest thing from content, actually.
And so, Xavier being Xavier, he slowly peels the blanket off of his figure, gaze meeting yours when you slowly blink awake, groggy.
"Xavier?" you call, with that wondrous voice of yours. He lowers his head slightly, nose digging into your neck, smiling against the skin as he feels you lean towards his touch.
"Sorry," he whispers. "I just wanted to nap with you."
He fails to mention how your blanket, ever so coincidentally, falls off (reads: is banished) from your bed. Dazed, you pat around the cushion, trying to feel where it went. He replaces its absence with his own body, splaying over you, limbs tangling with yours.
"Xavier?" you call again. "Xavier? Where's my blanket?"
With his head buried into the side of your neck, you can feel the outline of a frown against the dip of your shoulder, voice muffled as he replies, "Right here."
2. The Galaxy Kid plushie that he won for you at the claw machine. Most devastatingly, when you sit it up against the couch, and it faces the movie screen.
"Wait!" you exclaim, sitting up. "I forgot something!"
Xavier likes watching movies with you. Well, it's not really like he watches them, anyway—he stares at your departing form as you rush towards your room, scrambling haphazardly for something—it's more like you're watching the movie, and he watches you watch the movie.
Either way, Xavier likes watching you watch a movie, so everything works out in the end.
That is, until you emerge from your room with some wretched thing.
"He can watch with us!" you say, holding up the alien plushie he had won for you at Twinkle Toys. Before Xavier can utter his thoughts (that being: No, he cannot), you sit Galaxy Kid down by your side, arm brushing against his as you gently pat its glassy head.
Xavier stares at Galaxy Kid as if it were the most disgusting thing in the world. When you turn to look at him, however, his expression switches completely—he glances up at you from through his lashes, lips curled downwards, head tilting to the side as he blinks once, twice, thrice, before saying, "Does he have to?"
You laugh. "Xavier, are you jealous of a plushie?"
He just turns away.
"You won this for me!" you say, holding up Galaxy Kid towards him, your hands cradling its bulbous glass helmet. He frowns. Is one alien not enough?
(Xavier mentally prepares himself to fight the whole universe if it means he can be your only alien.)
"I did..." he mutters, staring at the ground, bottom lip jutted out, before his gaze returns to you.
You set Galaxy Kid down, your hands reaching up to pinch at his cheeks. Xavier assumes victory over the pathetic thing.
Galaxy Kid, now sideways on the couch, says nothing in response. That's right, Xavier thinks, giving it a side-eye, know your place.
3. Some random kid that you started pushing on the swings.
Xavier thinks you to be the most wondrous creature in the world.
Much to his chagrin, it seems that other people share the same sentiment.
"Yay!" some kid exclaims, screaming joyously as you push it on the swings, its grubby little legs flailing frantically. "Higher! Higher!"
Not only is it greedy (for hogging all of your attention), it is also audacious (for making demands—and also, hogging all of your attention).
Xavier, arms crossed, just watches you have a splendid time with this random kid. Where are its parents? How very negligent. As a victim of negligence himself, Xavier can't help but resonate with the kid.
Or maybe not. This kid isn't being neglected at all! It has you pushing it so joyously on the swings! What a cruel world this is.
Having enough of this fate, Xavier sits down on the swing right next to the kid, legs pushing off the ground just enough for the set to let out a pitiful creaaak... while not providing enough momentum for him to actually go anywhere.
Creaaak... He looks over his shoulder, both of his hands clasped around each of the swing's chains, bottom lip jutted out as he blinks at you, eyes wide and pitiful.
You stare at him, the excited screams of the kid starkly contrasting the pathetic expression which sweeps over his face like a stroke of light.
"Xavier?"
He stares at you expectantly.
"Xavier, what's wrong?"
"Can you push me?"
"Do you really need my help?
Immediately, he responds, "Yes."
Creaaak...
You sigh. While being pushed by you, Xavier makes the effort to glare at the kid at the height of momentum, eyes narrowed slightly.
"Haha!" the kid exclaims, blowing a raspberry at him. "I'm going higher than you!"
A flash of light erupts from out of nowhere, and all of a sudden, Xavier's height reaches the pinnacle—a record for this particular swingset.
"What...?!" the kid yells. "How's that possible?"
Xavier doesn't say anything. When you miss the last push, however, he does.
"Please push me," he repeats, staring at you from over his shoulder.
"Are you really fighting with a kid?"
No comment.
4. When you talk to your plants—especially when you tell them about your day.
After you learned that talking to plants could help stimulate their growth, Xavier's entire world fell apart.
("I want them to grow up!" you exclaimed, face enraptured with a smile, irrevocable. "Big and strong!"
("Grow?" he had echoed, staring at your plants from the corner of his eyes. Those greedy things. First, they made you water them; next, they took space in your apartment; then, they spread lies and misinformation, convincing you to talk to them?
(Just how many more demands must those weeds make?)
"And so, Tara was like so mad, because all of the tickets for the concert she had been waiting for were out just like that, and—"
A shift in the shadows; a rustle of the leaves; you turn your head, and, amidst all the vases of your flowers and plants, stands Xavier. He makes no effort to swat a leaf out of his face, and he stares at you from behind a sea of green.
"Xavier? What're you doing here?"
From behind the leaf, his eyes meet yours, blinking. "Can I not be here?"
"I mean, what're you doing with my plants?"
"Listening to your day."
"I already told you about my day, though."
"I am listening again."
"Why?"
"... I also need to grow. Big and strong."
"Xavier, you're a grown man."
"I might wilt."
"You? Wilt?"
He shrinks into the plants, head hanging low, only looking up to spare you that pathetic glance of his as he pouts.
"I'm wilting," he says, quiet. "Please tell me about your day."
A couple days later, Philo receives a visitor.
"Welcome! Oh, it's just you," Jeremiah says.
Xavier ignores that last part. He approaches the counter, with Jeremiah's sitting figure behind it, the florist's hands occupied with a newspaper.
"Does talking to plants help stimulate growth?" Xavier asks, fingers curling around the edge of the table.
Jeremiah doesn't look up. "Yeah."
Xavier frowns.
"So, the plants weren't spreading lies and misinformation at all..."
"How could plants spread lies and misinformation?" Jeremiah asks, still not looking up from the paper.
Xavier ignores him. He turns around and leaves the shop without a single word, the only thing left of his arrival being the bell which rings overhead, the doorway closing and leaving Philo empty.
5. Your phone.
Yes. Xavier gets jealous of your phone.
You're always holding it, and you're always looking at it, and you're always searching for it, and—Xavier slumps against your back, arms wrapped around your waist, hunched as he presses his face into your back—you're always with it.
"Xavier?" you say, one hand parting from your phone to trace over his hand. "Are you okay?"
"No," he replies, voice muffled by your clothes, arms squeezing you slightly.
"What happened?"
Before he can reply, a cough escapes your lips, and Xavier jolts up, his face parting from your back, hands raised to hold onto your shoulders as he leans forward, catching a glimpse of your side profile.
"It's because of that phone," he deducts. "You're gravely ill."
"What?"
"Come on," he says, tugging you towards your room. "Let's nap."
"How do any of those things correla—"
He picks you up, hands hooked under the back of your knees, while the other supports your back, before teleporting towards the room (ignoring how the two of you were only a couple steps away).
Delicately, he lays you down on the mattress, and he lifts the blanket to tuck both you and him underneath, his arm over your waist as he stares at you meticulously, again and again.
The blue light of your phone radiates onto your face. Xavier frowns, brows furrowing. His light is much warmer. He leans towards your face, nose nearly touching yours, his head shoving your phone out of the way.
"I think I'm sick," he mumbles, eyes fluttering shut once you dig your fingers into his scalp, threading through his pearly hair. The phone, now discarded somewhere onto the bed, is flung away by Xavier's stray hand, the contact entirely coincidental.
"Is that so?" you remark. "What a shame. I was going to kiss you just now."
His eyes jolt awake, wide.
"I'm not sick anymore."
You laugh. "What perfect timing!"
Xavier leans forward, lips capturing yours. He smiles into the kiss.

i realized i never shared my own headcanons for our beloved xav xav, so here i am. this is just pure yapping. beware!
✦ this might come across as creepy, but xavier has several secret accounts on social media. no, he is not some dumbo who can’t figure out the latest technology. it might have been frustrating at first, trying to locate where certain features are, but the learning curve for these applications always proved to be small. the accounts are simply a way to keep tabs on backtrackers that somehow got pulled into the online web. his old members don’t have to know that the user with the most inconspicuous handle is their captain. he watches every single story, highlights, videos — whatever they post. in a way, this peculiar routine has almost become a sort of absolution for xavier...
for the minority that don’t have social media accounts, xavier himself tries to visit them in person. these visits, though, tend to teeter on the line of being stalking. after all, he can’t afford to ever tell any of them. at the end of the day, xavier is content if they are safe and sound. this is all in good faith, and that is all that matters to him. although he’s lost touch with some (friends who he never expected to turn on him) to the point of no return in his eyes, he still thinks about them on certain days and nights.
✦ xavier decided to start a journal sometime after he started settling on earth. the world had been recovering from the great wars, and with a newfound peace, however fragile it might seem. perhaps, that is why he, too, decided to find his own peace, whether it be one word, one sentence at a time.
the journal might not be for the reason most would think. it is but a mere binder and looks quite simple on the outside: a beige cover with a small sticker on the front that says “to you.” very bulky, there are probably thousands of pages stuck together in the binder. but inside them is a whole different world, most precious to him among others he also cherished.
all this time — being away from philos and what not — xavier had begun to hold onto things and feelings that he just couldn’t share or comprehend. you weren’t there with him, and he just didn’t know what to do in the slightest. his archive in the spaceship is still there — that used to be his go-to when he was still space-bound.
however, writing was different for xavier.
it felt more intimate. he felt more connected — to you, to himself. it was also better than just propping up a mic and speaking into it while holding a picture of you from his academy days — the infamous lightseeker’s uniform that still haunts him to this day, now drained of its color and life due to his time being in space.
(this isn’t to say he forgot about the picture. he has it secure in his wallet, and it keeps him company whenever he writes another entry.)
the first entry is dated sometime in the early ’90s. the paper has turned a rich yellow now, but his elegant handwriting remains as it was at first, thanks to the lamination xavier finally decided to do as technology advanced with time. over the years, his writing has become more casual, more comfortable. and now he doesn’t like emulating the cursive style the teachers of the royal court taught. on some pages, one can find smudges that didn’t quite belong there, while on others, some sentences never reach their end.
everything xavier has written in the journal is everything he wished and wanted to say to you. he is still learning, and he wishes he can do so forever. if a day ever comes when xavier feels ready to gift the binder to you, he would. if you somehow come to learn about it on your own, he would gift it anyway.
✦ xavier has been collecting little trinkets from different eras. some are to be considered mere souvenirs, while others bear a similar sentiment to his journal. they are of all kinds: vintage and antique jewelry, pilgrimage badges, miniature portraits, and more. xavier has some of them gift-wrapped already, with a similar but smaller “for you” stickers pasted on top. he’s patiently waiting for the day when he would gift you these one by one. for now, they can sit just as patiently in a secure corner of his cupboard.
(his favorite will forever remain a portrait of your eyes — just your eyes. he only had one reference to show to the street artist, and of course it’s that damned picture. however, the artist somehow managed to bring out everything he loved about your eyes. xavier tried to visit them again, though considering his ever-increasing workload, he hasn’t gotten the chance to do so since his last trip to paris... this portrait is just for him, and only for him. so unfortunately, you won’t be receiving this as a gift.)
✦ there used to be a stray dog that often roamed in his old apartment complex. its coat was black, like the darkest of nights. many passersby appeared quite scared of it, and rightfully so. the dog would simply retreat upon people’s yells and shoos. but one day, some naughty teens decided to take it a notch too far. he was returning from a late-night patrol (still on his evol police job) that he saw the complex’s security guard crouching near the entrance gates.
“those delinquents got it good.”
a tsk as the security guard motioned toward the poor dog. it lay on the concrete, with blood trickling down its head and chest heaving. something tugged on his limbs, and he finally decided to step in.
xavier simply sighed and picked up the trembling dog in his arms, before saying: “i got it.”
xavier brought it to his apartment. he knew the vets and clinics wouldn’t be opening until the morning, so he did what he could. he tried to clean whatever he could without worsening the injuries. he also tried to feed it something, but the poor dog only trembled and shrieked. as more and more hours went by, xavier began to lose hope. he dialed up many numbers, and yet no call went through. when sunrise finally hit linkon city, he had no choice but to let the dog go. its body soon went still as xavier held its head in his lap.
xavier doesn’t know if he somehow committed a sin by getting involved in this. what he does know is he wasn’t going to let the dog die on the side of a road. xavier hopes to this day that the dog at least died knowing that someone cared for him, even if it was for but a fraction of time.
✦ xavier often gets nightmares of his mother, specifically the moment she turned into a wanderer and her inevitable death that was delivered by his own blade. as with most things, time was a big help in healing from this trauma. however, on some nights, when the air is a bit too cold and the moon doesn’t shine the way it should, he can’t help but be reminded of that monstrous forest again and again. there’s no cure for this, xavier knows. nothing can bring back his mother; xavier also knows that. his memories of his time with his mother are rare. these remembrances are the only thing that guide him back to sleep. and for a moment, as his eyes close for the final time that night, he swears he can almost feel her gentle hand on his back.
Oh my goodness Xavier’s card has me in absolute shambles & I need to get all my thoughts out 🥹 I’ll try to make it coherent but it will probably be stream of consciousness with tangents. I only have good things to say though 🥹 spoiler warning obviously!

The pining and longing was just 🤌🤌🤌🤌 MC missing him in the beginning, the tension where they’re in close proximity and you can tell MC wants to be more affectionate but she has to restrain herself. The part when he is untangling her hair 😩 inject that shit into my veins
(side note, I watched this card in EN & simplified CN and the acting was SO GOOD in both languages for that scene 😮💨 it was great overall too but that was one of the standout moments for me)
& speaking of that, I love how xavier is so gentle with her when it comes to interactions like that and it feels like he has this reverence for her. There was a similar moment in sunken glow. She really is his queen 😭

It was interesting to me that the “condition” for getting back to Linkon was MC getting Xavier to run away with her and it made me think a lot about how to Xavier, MC represents freedom. In anecdote 3 it’s MC who pulls him out of his oppressive bubble & who sets him in this path of freeing himself from the constraints of royalty and freeing Philos from being what it is. & then again in KoD she frees him from being trapped in Sindersfell. He has that line in his birthday card where MC expresses concern that she’s holding him back and he says, “what makes you think he has to choose between being with you and being free?”
Also now that I’m writing this honesty is another big theme for them, esp in being honest with themselves about how they feel for each other, & i don’t think they would have been able to make it back to linkon if they were holding back at all.

Mocap actors & animators………thank you 😭 I rewatched the 1990s Romeo + Juliet in preparation for this card & Leo & Clare totally did the head nuzzle thing while they were kissing in the pool. I wonder if it was intentional (probably not but maybe???)
This is the second time MC has pushed xavier up against the wall (that I can recall) & I think she should do this in every card.

This card also made me realize courage is a big theme for xavier’s MC in particular. The line at the end, “Courage that’s as strong as a fortress isn’t something you’re born with. It’s built and refined slowly through loving someone and being loved.” First of all, i had to put my phone down and feel my feels when i read this bc oh my god that is such a beautiful sentiment. But also listen. People love to hate Lightseeker MC but you have to look at her in context. In Shooting Stars she was not her best self—she was willful, she did what’s expected of her without questioning it too much, she sucked at communication, & I think she harbored a lot of fear and self-doubt. (Tbf xavier was not the best version of himself either). But look at her now!! Look at her in this card!! She is so fearless. She may not remember everything that has transpired in her lives but she is a much more mature & wise version of herself because she has loved and been loved. Idk I have such a soft spot for lightseeker MC bc I had similar tendencies in my early 20s and I just feel for her.
I think that’s all I can coherently put into words but yeah this card was great, it is for sure one of my fave cards of his. it really feels like xavMC coming full circle.
