She shouldn’t be surprised that Yoh was asking her that question. After all, if any stranger just glanced at him they wouldn’t think this scrawny kid who had so little motivation would have any hope to making it far in the tournament, much less win.

But Anna wasn’t everyone else.

“Because I know you.” It wasn’t a detailed response, but Anna was a girl of few words. Her explanation wasn’t likely to be overly long, but it would be enough. “I may not be able to read minds anymore, but I could back then. I could see your heart, and I could see what kind of person you were. I have faith because you deserve it, and if anyone can achieve that… it’s you.”

Soon he will have burgers and fries, and all he can eat. He’ll be King with this omnipotent spirit as his guardian ghost. ❝I can have unlimited burgers and you can go shopping for anything!❞ He’s lost in his fantasy as he sprints towards their kitchen.

For once she doesn’t go out of her way to dash Yoh’s upbeat attitude, and instead watched her fiance in silence. If burgers were going to be his motivation then Anna had no plans to dash his hopes (even if they were questionable). That, and he did have a point about shopping.

And she wasn’t about to use the other male for any deep discussions about those feelings.

“No, Manta, I’m not.” She still didn’t bother to look in the other’s direction, and instead she chose to turn up the volume of the TV with the remote. Her concerns obviously weren’t with how cold it was. “Why don’t you go be useful. There’s a grocery list on the table.”

“Worry about becoming Shaman King first, then fantasize about your burgers.” Perhaps one would worry about their fiance’s driving force for winning a tournament was cheeseburgers, but it honestly wasn’t a concern of Anna’s. So long as Yoh won. That was her concern. “Yes. So focus on healthy food and training until the fights are over. Otherwise I’ll be waking you up even earlier for training.”
