Oh, this is awesome. You’ve got to be kidding me.

I’ve only been three years in the industry—but I would say from my observations, my personal opinions, that the world in Hollywood and all the big movies has been built up as just white. There’s an issue, ‘cause that’s not the world. Walk down Main Street and you know that’s not the world. Hollywood is so fixated on keeping it that way because it’s generating the buzz, but that representation isn’t right. I definitely feel like it’s getting better—it’s not only for blacks, but for people that are of all different skin colors. It is very important that black independent films get seen. We need to start getting used to black people. They exist. And they’ve been around for a long time. It’s amazing that people still feel, “Oh my gosh, it’s a black guy.” We’ve been here for a long time, let’s get used to it. Let’s get used to other cultures. Portray the world for what it is and you will find truth.
