“Ned??” he was quite possibly the last person may would expect to land in the chaos ‘73. she's torn between glad to see him and exhausted that there was another person that she’d have to try and protect. at least he could keep peter out of trouble when she and tony couldn't. maybe, she knew how well that ended last time. she wraps her arms around him quickly, “it’s good to see you honey,” she’s trying to figure out how to explain all of this to him or get him back home and out of the cross fire. “you’re uh-- you’re in new york. just in the past, like the seventies past.”

It’s clear that she wasn’t expecting it, having to stop her jaw from dropping at his words. for once in her life, may parker doesn’t have a snarky comeback to give tony stark. instead she’s stumbling through five hundred different emotions and she seems to have forgotten how to speak. her mind is racing and she realizes how long it’s been since she’s told someone that wasn’t peter that she loved them. she’s fiddling with the ring thats still worn on her left hand when she finally looks up at him, “you love me??” her voice comes out a lot softer than she intends it to, as she still floating on shock. she takes a step closer to him, finally stopping her fidgeting with the old wedding band to bring her hand to his face carefully, “if this is some kind of joke, just to make me some other conquest...” she shakes her head softly, unable to continue the thought. she had to let it out now, who knows if she’d ever get the chance to tell him later, “because god damn it, you may make my life hell sometimes tony stark, but i love you too.”

May is a little more than shocked when she finds herself standing underneath the plant with johnny. “peter wouldn’t approve,” her eyes flicker from the mistletoe to the man in front of her, weighing her options. despite her words, and her thoughts telling her she really shouldn’t, she steps forward and presses a soft kiss to his lips. “which is why he doesn’t need to know. besides, it’s only tradition.”

May pulls herself up onto a counter top, legs danging inches from the floor as she gives him a once over. he’s being civil,kind of, so she should attempt to do the same. “glad we’re both on the same page about him being involved,” for once. but she doesn’t say that part out loud, not trying to push a fight in the midst of everything. “don’t think i can handle the fight, stark??” she’s teasing, a small smile playing on her lips for just a second, before she drops back into the serious exterior she normally puts on around the man. “honestly, i have no idea. i just kind of woke up here,” saying it the exhaustion in her voice became clear to her. previous to her arrival she hadn’t slept in-- who knows how long and now that she was here, she wasn’t sure if she ever wanted to sleep again. she’s been staring at her hands, intertwining her fingers together absentmindedly, but her eyes flicker up to meet his. “i thought i’d lost him too,” her voice wavers on the last word. here she is, on some random counter in 1973, about to cry in front of tony stark.

Tony: Let's both do it.

“Tony,” his name falls from her lips in a sigh, it’s somewhere between being relieved and completely annoyed with him being here. may should’ve known better than to think she had escaped the billionaire. at least she knew peter would be safe now, if she couldn’t be a helicopter parent on missions, she knew tony would be. nails click on the counter top as she debates speaking to him anymore, knowing that most conversations between the two of them drove her mad. despite her better judgement she turns to face him, “how nice of you to grace us with your presence,” a small smirk is playing on her lips as she looks up at him.
