Protectors of the multiverse

Ink and Error are aware that to protect, both defense and offense are necessary.

While ink spends his time repairing and finishing, error spends his time on pruning and containment.

While they are not nearly as in-tune with eachother as the dreamtale twins, they seem to have a sort of instinct for when one or the other is needed.

Ink was created from practically nothing. His uncoordinated use of his vials, his origin, and protector-related hyper awareness make him easily prone to overstimulation and anxiety.

He wears flowy, loose clothing, and has a half-sun-shaped splatter of ink on his forehead. When asked about it, he often responds by telling you he’s had it a long time.

Error was created by the destruction of who he was. While generally grumpy, he is often more at peace than ink. His multiverse is young, and his powers are not needed often.

Chaotic peace and peaceful chaos…

In a universe where the tree itself had more power, neither she nor the twins were completely separated.

Nightmare and Dream have more faith in eachother, and can better communicate with the tree overseeing them.

Even so, the kids are powerful as they are misunderstood, and a final standoff between the dreamtale residents and their guardians nearly destroys them all.

Nightmare is fatally injured, dream is turned to stone, and the tree trades its physical form to keep her children intact.

Nightmare, assisted before he eats the apples, does not fully corrupt. His mother’s branches hold together his shape and his brother’s soul.

Dreamtale, left without the roots of its world, starts to crumble until only the twins are left.

Paralyzed by grief and anger, neither twin leaves.

Things stay stagnant for a long time, but without either directly contributing to the state of the multiverse, it fluctuates on its own.
