"HmmâŠProbably!", Senida chirped at the magusâ reply. Though he was very much underestimating the power of Ember, it could be rather useful even for combat sometimes. The smallest of flames have been known to cause wildfires, after all. "Sorry I couldnât show you something bigger. Maybe when I get my powers back, I can!"
The whole replication process interested her. Itâd cut down on the learning portion of spells, but it wouldnât be a good idea. It was always best to learn the spell yourself. Learn to control it, and make it your own. However, she wasnât surprised that he had the same restraints she did, but it was ironic that he had said âthree times a dayâ, seeing as that was the exact limit of her abilities at the moment.
"HmmâŠI see. Itâs good that itâs flexible, and that itâs rather handy, but isnât it more fun to learn it yourself? A lot of times, you can control it better that way, if you learn to understand it from scratch."
No doubt it would take an equally long time, if not longer, to learn such a skill. But being the only one to know it? That was an advantage of its own, which gave him the right to feel proud of it. Or so she believed.
Looking to his hand as he held it out, Senida stretched out her own to shake it. "Nice to meet you, Rubick! Iâm Senida Kamelot. Itâs nice to see another spell-caster here. Iâm a wizard! Though I was still learning more magic back at home.", the wizard answered, feeling rather honored to meet the Grand Magus. Whether it was the title or his skill, it was definitely nice to meet another person who could use magic.
Rubick nodded, still not entirely focused on the conversation. He was so sure there was still soot on his gloves from the flame, and it just didn't seem to want to come off. "Ah? Well, that's quite alright, you've already shown me something interesting. And I look forward to it, miss."
She was still rather young though, wasn't she? Rubick doubted she could show him anything too surprising, but the sentiment was still nice. And it made a thought occur to him; he'd never really fall behind in the city. Even if someone else was more powerful than him, so long as he could steal their strongest ability, he would likely be on par. Convenient.
The girl's question made him raise an eyebrow beneath his mask; quite an astute observation for someone so young. "Hm? No, I think I would be inclined to disagree. If I took the time to learn every incantation and spell, I would be much older and far less powerful. There are so many things to learn in this world, and I can't spend all my time on magic. That's why I developed the Spellsteal in the first place, so that  could devote my time to other studies. And knowledge comes from experience. Even if I take a new spell, I only need to use it a few times in order to understand it. Much quicker and more useful than studying a book or something."
Rubick was the grand magus, after all. He didn't take the pursuit of knowledge so lightly.
"Ah, yes, the same to you, miss. I had a feeling there would be a good deal of other spellcasters here in this city, and plenty of spells to sample!" The excitement came back to his voice, unable to be squelched when speaking of matters like this. "And I'm so glad to meet a mage-in-training! Maybe I could give you a few pointers, eh?"
