He Wants You!

It happened. He saw you in the crowd; watched you as you sang along, swaying to the sounds of his voice. He wants you to know he sees you, sees your devotion. Sometimes it's more gentle, from afar and with kind eyes; while other times it's up close, direct and somewhat intimidating.

One of the recurring themes of Ghost that resonates with me (especially last year when i was enjoying Hell Year and happened to get into Ghost) is basically...well, cycles, but it's more than that. Like.

Bad things happen. You do not get a pleasant resolution all the time, you don't get closure, you just endure and pick up the pieces. Eventually you'll be okay. It is okay to acknowledge those bad things as part of you. It is okay to not fully make peace with them. But you will also be okay eventually, with those things still within you. Things get better, bit by bit, even if you don't notice it getting better. It's all just you.

The bad things didn't not happen just because you're okay. But the bad things also don't make you not okay. It's all just there, part of you.

"If You Have Ghosts" and "Respite on the Spitalfields" and "Peacefield" and "Spillways" I think give me that feeling the most, but it occurs in a lot of their songs, and in the live speeches and so on as well.
