Doing my best to withhold judgment (a politeness that is hardly ever returned), but it really is crazy to me how many Christians talking about “finding God” as this absolute necessity for happiness. Like forget threats of like, permanent suffering of the immortal soul, they’ll be so fixated on proselytizing to you that the only way you can find any happiness or meaning in THIS life is through converting to Christianity, “finding Christ,” going to church, reading the Bible. They’ll speak to all of these things like finding a sense of security or purpose or meaning to their life, overcoming their own self-destructive vices, developing a moral compass, finding a community, and act like this is something that God Did. That you can’t have WITHOUT God. And it’s just like. Idk what to tell you. I didn’t need a Christian God to find any of these things. So.
