Just to ramble & gush & do the will smith pose to writing friend & their Monsoon, Adam & Kaz. Funny story — I did make this blog because I missed writing with them & did want to dig more into Samuel & Big Boss as characters. They might’ve given a friendly nudge to do so with reassurance they’d write with me. The rpc for mgs is so small… so main worry was not having anyone to write with. But I’m fortunate to have found a writing partner as great as they are.

The sound of screaming is heard from behind, & he doesn't need to glance over a shoulder to know the other is causing his usual brand of mayhem despite the snipped response roared over the chaos. The cruel cackle he can hear resonating through the clouding mess of smoke & debris inspires a chuckle of his own as he rolls his eyes.

Despite the other Wind's pain in the ass attitude when out on the field, Sam can admit, Monsoon never seemed to half-ass any operation he was overlooking. Moving through them with a fluid-like grace, the ability to be just as quiet as the very wind itself or loud, fear-inciting with the promise of destruction he brings, he had the potential to embody both depending on the seriousness of the task at hand or his mood. It is that which garners the swordsman's respect, however much he frays along his patience like an exposed nerve at times.

He dodges to the side just in time to avoid a thick spray of blood & spinal fluid, nose wrinkling in disgust as he scoffs, making quick work of the rest so they could call the mission a success & return to their respective spaces. Not quite the fight nor struggle he'd anticipated. A true shame.

Once the last of the their targets are eliminated, Sam takes great care to move around the remnants, the bodies still laying in pieces along the makeshift battlefield to cleaner ground, swiping the edges of his blade free of any remaining gunk with practiced fingers. A quickened press, before he sheathes Murasama, lips still tugged down in a frown as he flicks the lingering fluids from his hand.

❝ Don't think, just do? ❞

Samuel parrots, casting the other Assassin a look. His expression takes on it's usual brand of amused thoughtfulness, canting his head to the side in a way that makes his hair sway lightly. His gaze thins, lips tilting in a playful curve as a short bark of a laugh is given.

❝ Quite the advice coming from you, you know. All you do is think. Now was there anything else left to finish up here or can we go report back & call it a day? ❞

“Ah, there you go, not hearing my entire sentence!”

The cackle that comes from the Wind is shrill yet loud; booming; talking over the screams of their victims; disappearing in smoke and then reappearing; the blade of his sai lodging into flesh; the squelching sound like music to his ears as the grin on his face widens, yanking it out and watching the body fall to his feet. He nudges it slightly, an amused hum leaving the older as a floating hand moves under his chin; not yet secure on his body.

“I said that you DON’T think—you just charge in so casually…Have you considered that maybe that could be why you’re so bored?” Ah, there it was. Of course he analyzed Sam on missions like this—he analyzed everyone and everything. It didn’t take long to notice that the younger wanted to get these things over and done with—the thought made him chuckle; a reverb rumbling within his chest. His free hand floats over to Sam with ease, fingers ‘walking’ along his shoulders, then across his chest before pushing up and rising to grip his jaw. Thumb idly rubs against the swordsman’s jawline before he lets go and the limb is pulled over and snaps onto his body; the clash of metal loud in both of their ears.

The older walks towards Sam, arms crossed over his chest and his head tilted slightly. Maybe Monsoon took these missions a little too seriously—but he enjoyed watching the enemy find out he was always one step ahead of them. It made things far more interesting—He could remember the days back home under the crime syndicate; when those who opposed them would beg at his feet for him to spare their lives and he wiped them all with no remorse; and the surge of surprise he felt when his own enemies caught him off guard and nearly killed him—it made him into this. It fuelled him day by day and he learned to always be a step ahead. “Maybe if you were a little more…tactical; you’d find some more enjoyment.” He mused, standing next to Sam and tilting his head upwards to look at the taller before turning his head; scanning the area to see if there were any other enemies around them.

His hand moves to rest on Sam’s bicep; a brief touch before dropping; his grin fading slowly before he nods in response. “It seems like we can leave. I don’t see anyone else within a ten mile radius. We’ve gotten what we needed.”
