It’s good to do uncomfortable things. It’s weight training for life.

It was the moment I realized what music can do to people, how it can make you hurt and feel so good all at once.

Writing small things means you notice those small things. It means you’re paying attention to something not everyone thinks to focus on. That focus makes someone feel special. But if you make someone feel too special to you they may wonder why you notice such small things and make them into large emotional blankets.
We must make our lives interesting. We must notice these details, because to do otherwise is to not live. To do otherwise is to choose not to know someone slightly better than they realize they convey. If you prefer to love - people, life, beauty, whatever - you’ll notice. But honestly, we all notice things that we don’t say out loud. Our bodies betray us slightly at a surprise. But hey, your inner world is fantastic, so don’t sweat it if someone sees you’re full of thoughts and feelings. You observe, you know, think, and react inside yourself.

I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life. And I am horribly limited.

In a sense, I’m the one who ruined me: I did it myself.

I wasn’t actually in love, but I felt a sort of tender curiosity.
