âWell⌠thatâs just perfect, now isnât it?â Sloane had been working odd jobs for awhile now â ever since she was a pre-teen and decided that her own money was something of a necessity for her. Somehow, lately, she landed being part of the wait staff at one of the local diners, even despite her rough facade. It definitely wasnât up her alley or even in the realm of what she was really interested in. After all, whoâd get joy from picking up after other people and dealing with customers all day? Certainly not Sloane, but she was saving up to take a trip out of town and this was the best she could do with what she had. While she never quite looked pristine or like she could never do any wrong, she stood in the doorway of the entrance of the alien-themed restaurant with an unlit cigarette in her mouth as she was headed on her way outside. Her eyes widened when she saw who exactly was about to enter, but tried not to let on that she had been startled. Sloane didnât quite get along with most people. âDid you need me for something?â She asked with a rather monotone voice. âBecause we both know that youâre probably not wanting to see me, and Iâm trying to enjoy my break and you might just be ruining that too.â She sighed, although she would have to probably serve them once she was off her little break because that was her job. She was stuck in quite the predicament: being the staff to a place someone she wasnât fond of was visiting. What a drag, she thought to herself.
Customer service was something heâd been pretty familiar with, considering he had his number of odd jobs here and there before deciding to quit it all to be a YouTuber, a much better career choice if he said so himself, and while he totally got how exhausting it could be, rudeness wasnât quite something he could find himself forgiving. So, when the girl spoke to him, bored and obviously unhappy to be in her situation, he raised his eyebrows. âActually, I do want to see you,â He started, deciding to mess around with her a little, shoulders shrugging, âI was wondering if you could tell me what the best pie was to get here, cause I just⌠really canât decide.â  The blond sighed, head shaking as he turned the menu over, raising his coffee cup up to his lips and sipping, âAnd if you knew how they cooked their burgers? Do they use local meat? Or are they worried the cows are tainted by all the uh, alien abductions and all.â
