dawn's just a spoilt girlie-girl 7 year old with no friends ofc she's gonna chase power as soon as its presented to her but then squawkencluck turns out to be one of the first non-toy people to become her friend for a breif moment there and i feel like that's what she would've needed to become a healthy well-adjusted kid

as for squawkencluck i feel like maybe she had this internalised sense of 'girly stuff makes you look dumb, dont endulge in it' UNTIL she met dawn...... im p sure dawn would've healed that quite a bit if DM didnt FUCK IT UP RIGHT AT THE LAST SECOND

its so freakin sad dude SQUAWKENCLUCK WAS WITH RIGHT THERE WITH HER AND THEY WERE HAVING SO MUCH FUN TOGETHER FOR LIKE 10 SECONDS </3

I wanna expand by saying that I think both dawn As Well As squawk were very neglected (and in dawns case she Continues To Be neglected). Obviously her frustration towards her happiness not being prioritised by those around her is somewhat typical of kids her age but we then see her In Her Room on Her Own with no one to keep her company but her own imagination (demonstrated by how she initially puppets mr snuggles). Poor kid has virtually no friends. I say virtually because obviously she probably has caretakers offscreen (def not her own father but I’ll get to that) so some may argue that she could also have offscreen friends and go to school and whatnot but it’s really not. Normal for a kid of her age to act out to the degree that she does.

THIS IS A TEXTBOOK SIGN OF EMOTIONAL NEGLECT BY THE WAY. SHE IS NOT GETTING THE ATTENTION SHE NEEDS. SHE HAS TO MAGICALLY INJECT SOULS INTO HER TOYS IN ORDER TO HAVE ANYONE ELSE TO INTERACT WITH.

And you know whose fuckin fault it is. It’s def crumhorn’s. there is no way in hell this guy is a good father and we Know this from the way he treats dawn in his episodes. It’s fucking concerning how little he even acknowledges his own daughter to the point where he doesn’t even give her gifts in person. in tomorrow never comes he uses a fleet of helicopters to deliver something to her dollhouse as if he doesn’t wanna go near her with a 10 foot pole. even then the ‘gift’ is absolutely just a tactic to get her to leave him alone; judging by the fit she throws at the beginning of the episode and how she outwardly despises Mondays as a Whole crumhorn has surely been subject to a meltdown like this and has simply tried to avoid one again instead of actually caring about her and trying to find a solution that wouldn’t. You know. Potentially cause the end of the world. def deeping the kids show but wow what a chilling display of the consequences of parental neglect you could’ve literally killed her crumhorn. Fucking thanks for nothing Augustus

Dawn is also mistreated by almost every adult that shares space with her aside from squawk and dm. even then their respect for her is conditional (source: dm throwing her in jail every other time she causes a scene. Yes I Suppose he has the excuse that she isn’t his responsibility and her recklessness is a threat to the public but that’s literally just the tiara’s doing justfucjjngdestroythetiara Omd)
