Alas all games must end. I suppose I won't mourn this one for too long. Seems pointless to mourn the loss of something so inconsequential. I'll find new entertainment eventually.

I knew you'd be in my office again, in the near future. Which is exactly why I left it sitting on my desk for you.
An envelope, pristine, neatly closed. No name on it though if you flipped it to the back, you'd be able to see it belonged to you. The stamp closed the envelope with pride, almost. The wax was black and in the centre lay a bright red, glittery Spade. It contrasted against the black sharply.
If opened, you'd be able to see that it contained a single playing card. The Ace Of Spades. Perhaps an apology, my surrender to the rules. Waving my white flag, I suppose.
Along with a slow written note. It was ripped all around the edges. Small and tucked away, as if I didn't want it to be read or seen. When flipped open, the handwiriting was straggly, harsh strokes of forced neatness against the paper, as if it pained me to write it. Pained me to admit my defeat.
"Hello, Spade."
Is all it read.

Gift, is that what you call it? The room hasn't been handled physically in fifteen years. I put it together with my own bare hands. TOPPLE over bookshelves like they're nothing to gain my attention? I'm sure (REDACTED'S NAME) was put INTO the scrap earlier due to the garbage disposal schedule changing this week. This file is the only file we needed and it is gone and nowhere to be found. On another hand you've decieved me to make me notice you and as much as it's working is as much as I can't bare to face you ever again.
I feel angry in so many ways and it makes me want to tear what's left of my hair out. I could pull my ears and eyes, cut their chords and never work a day of my life again and be incredibly satisfied with what I've done to myself.
I played my game and I feel I've... not lost only misplaced my win, but the mere thought of you is setting my nervous system up in flames, the annoyance of the whole ordeal is completely unable to blend into the rest of my emotions. I am so incredibly angry at you I can't even speak. I feel ill with the thought and my ears are bursting with annoyance my brain is strained and I'm physically dizzy. My face is a deep red and tars have streamed down my face twice since the time you left here, Spade, and ive been unable to continue my meetings due to you.
So do I like the gift? No. I do not. Don't ask rhetorical questions, you know how they get me. Instead I've held back on slamming my phone to pieces and screaming like an unruly child.
