For a loved one and her children: Book of Psalms 40: 1-6 1. [For the choir director; a psalm by David.] I waited patiently for the LORD. He turned to me and heard my cry for help. 2. He pulled me out of a horrible pit, out of the mud and clay. He set my feet on a rock and made my steps secure. 3. He placed a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see this and worship. They will trust the LORD. 4. Blessed is the person who places his confidence in the LORD and does not rely on arrogant people or those who follow lies. 5. You have done many miraculous things, O LORD my God. You have made many wonderful plans for us. No one compares to you! I will tell others about your miracles, which are more than I can count. 6. You were not pleased with sacrifices and offerings. You have dug out two ears for me. You did not ask for burnt offerings or sacrifices for sin. A bit of a different post today than my usual art and visual playfulness. Greiving and loss of different sorts have been something of a theme in my life starting about 4 years or so ago. And really this is not so much about myself but more about a younger family member that very recently lost someone very, very dear to her life, her daughter. I'm not going to say more than that as far as details, other than the reason I'm posting this pic is (and really that I put it together from some art I had done years ago is very trivial) is because while coming from my own faith in Christ and the experiences of things I can personally give testimony of having Him brought me through, this is to share that I'm both astonished and inspired by this family member's continued trust and faith in spite of more than a few other hardships she's already weathered. One more thing is there are also some friends who lost their home in the recent fires in Northern California and then to add to that had family members lose homes during the last huricane in Florida, and yet continue to encourage and inspire myself and others with their faith in Christ. So hopefully, in spite of troubled times, sharing these words (and a pic to go with it) will encourage others going through loss and difficult times. https://www.instagram.com/p/BpNhDJenEUW/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=kxfhxms8yhxz
