a cultural attitude among ppl who deal with housing instability is, or rather it is a developed behavior of hypervigilance, around their stuff or their communities stuff. and its the latter that is a problem bc it always inevitably brings further scrutiny onto an organization, or at best promotes intracommunity distrust. you should not need to surveil people you are in community with, it is imo something that can and should be worked through. i have a lot of compassion for why, but it is dysfunctional

every business in this shithole country is legally incentivized to take advantage of the individual and drain them of their resources whether financial or through their labor so idgaf about stealing right back. sometimes stealing is akin to violation but this is not one of those times, dont be obtuse
