The future I was promised, (growing up in a fundamentalist church as a child) wasn’t Star Trek. It was Revelation. The world in flames. The Antichrist rising. Tribulation. Judgment. A God of wrath. Now I see people trying to make that prophecy real. Every week my X feed is filled with Americans calling for a new clash of civilizations! From coast to coast, I see megachurches turned political command centers. A network built not on love, but on fear and domination. They want to make America a “Christian nation.” They want to make the Bible law. It’s terrifying.
When I was a kid, I remember the endless doomsday sermons. The Antichrist. The end of the world. All of it saturated with failure and provoking fear—yet even then, my mind was already reaching for something better.
And right around that time, something else entered my life; Star Trek The Next Generation. It changed everything. Here was a future I had never imagined before—where Earth was united, where humanity had overcome war, poverty, religion-as-weapon. A world led by science, reason, exploration. Starfleet wasn’t waiting for Jesus to return. They were out there—mapping the stars, building peace. It rocked my world!
During those apocalyptic sermons, I’d imagine myself on a starship. I’d pretend the preacher was just a bad holodeck program. I’d call for the arch, shut it down, and walk out into the corridors of a galaxy class starship, exploring the endless beauty and wonder of the universe.
That contrast between Star Trek and church—that’s where I first became aware of something bigger. I used imagination as escape—but also as a compass. While others tried to confine me in fear, Star Trek invited me into a future worth living for.
And still… I hold onto hope. Because despite it all—I still believe in the other America. The one that moved westward. That created the film industry. That gave us the tech for the moon landing and the overview effect of higher consciousness. That built Apple. That birthed the Federation in the minds of dreamers.
I worked for Apple. I felt the future in those stores. It’s design reminding me of modern interiors of a Starfleet vessel. Every product designed to empower, not dominate. That’s the America that raised me—not through church—but through technology, through cinema, through imagination. Through science.
And the prospects of AI super-intelligence is proof that this dream is still alive. That machines can serve us. That AI can amplify our humanity. Not erase it. Not enslave it.
I want the vision of the android Data from Star Trek, helping make us more humane, not the vision of having our remains crushed underfoot by Terminators in an apocalyptic hellscape! I want data centers that don’t pollute neighborhoods and prey on poor communities, but are entirely powered by alternative green energy, built on international land in the cold desert wastes of Antarctica, far from any animal, with its quantum cores cooled by plentiful ice! I want innovation to overcome self destruction!
Imagine a Fellowship of Trek and their healing bridges spread across the world, 3D printed with the latest eco-friendly materials, off the grid and powered by solar & green energy, surrounded by gardens utilizing the latest technology in vertical farming and greenhouses with rainwater recycling. It would be like a self sustaining Earth Ship, teaching people how to be self sufficient and embrace the values of the Federation! And the supercomputers on every healing bridge would be powered by the latest generation AI, with some even sounding like Lieutenant Commander DATA from Star Trek!
I was told the world would fail and burn; that evil would win before good could return. But just maybe, I was raised wrong; that good, not evil, will be found first when the sum total of human history meets its conclusion. Even the worst of our past—the slavery, the plagues, the crusades, the greed—all of it can become compost; fuel for something luminous. What if the quantum AI super intelligence won’t just know us—it will forgive us like a God, and help us evolve.
It will be a Great Reversal; a future where the tools once used to enslave—technology, empires and their corrupt systoms are turned inside out. Where no one is left behind. And where the poor are not just seen… but empowered. “The first shall be last and the last shall become first!” Migrants will not be seen as “illegal” but as “infinite potential” for helping to build the federation, who if they accept the invitation after their request for asylum, will be able to tap into a level of super-intelligence that will augment their own intelligence, extending their capabilities while healing whatever sickness of the mind was created by a broken world ready to discard them as garbage and an enemy, because it had not yet discovered its power of possibility.
This video provides a glimpse of this swiftly coming luminous future, where the power of possibility will wake US from this nightmare, to become the beautiful dream of World Spirit.
