       Since Mera had found out about it on the Surface; she had wandered into a new age shop, lured by the smells, and had been turned onto the idea of aromatherapy. She came back in, and straddled the small of his back, spreading the lavender oil between her palms. Then, she eased her fingers itno his muscles, beginning a massage.

        "Mmmm..." Arthur murmured appreciatively at her hands, which when coupled with the scent of the oils, were all ready beginning to put the king into a lull. A happy, content lull. "I never knew you'd be so good at this."

       ”Well, then please, remove your shirt and lay face down on our bed. I need to get the oil.” Another kiss, before Mera briefly disappeared into the chamber adjoining their bedroom.

        "Yes ma'am." Since when do we have massage oil? No matter. He mused in his head while doing as he was asked. The shirt was stripped to the floor, and he made himself comfortable face down on the bed sheets.

         ”Oh no, that wasn’t what I meant, husband. I meant that I could give you a massage, to ease the ache in your muscles and mind.” She leaned up on the tips of her toes, to kiss his chin.

        "That sounds as though it's a lovely idea." It was his turn to smile now, him at the idea of it.

       ”Oh? Perhaps I can assist you in your recuperation..” She smiled up at him, reaching up to run the tips of her fingers lightly over the backs of his hands. “No, nothing really worth mentioning. A Japanese troller was hunting a pack of Orca, and they had a few babies.. so I might have sunk the ship. Perhaps not.” Another sunny smile.

        "Telling me the stories of your conquests isn't exactly what I would call recuperation. However, in a time when I'm less sore, I'd love to hear them. But your smile? I'm starting to feel better already."

        “Long, and conspicuously absent of you, my king.” She tilted her jaw up and nuzzled against his hand, letting her fingers fan over his hips. “How are you faring?”

        "I'm still recuperating after that battle with Hercules. Anything noteworthy in the seas during my absence?" Leaving her hair, he let his hands rest on her shoulders, where they squeezed gently.

       Mellow, just like my hair color. I’ve got no bones to pick with anyone! Well.. accept the chick that cut me off on my way to class the other day and then drove like a slug. 

        "I'm... very sorry to hear that? I guess I'm not used to struggling to get around."

       … Yeah, that’s not really my cup’a tea. I can go get one of the others if you’re feeling particularly bad today, though. 

        "No thank you. I prefer my bats to be mellow. And not with a bone to pick."

        "And how's your day been, my queen?" Fingers reached forward and carded through her red locks, pushing it back.

        "At first I thought it to be a bit... Gaudy, but I came to appreciate the colors."
