My new #planner for 2018. I love it!
I found my craft paints. I have made a LOT of projects with these over the years. I bought these in college on clearance at K-mart I believe. I used to do t-shirts, jackets, posters, etc. Maybe I should have switched to art as my major?
Does this mean it will load faster?
white people are so damn weak.
Guess that means I need to open my account then.

These things have to keep happening!
Whitewashing Defenders' Greatest Hits
âIf you have to have someone who looks like you in the media in order for you to relate then maybe youâre the one whoâs racistâ
âchildren donât see/care about raceâ
âColor doesnât matter! Itâs about the actor/story!â
âthere are bigger issues to talk about than representationâ
âthey whitewashed because they need to make a profit and attract their target audienceâ
âhistorical accuracyâ
âItâs a European fairytale/story so of course the characters will be white!âÂ
(Because itâs not like the setting could change and adapt to the story)
âwhitewashing isnât realâ
âthey considered and picked the best actor for the jobâ
(The best actor? More like the best we can do at this time.)
(Itâs not the best actor when you exclude a racially ambiguous role to one race.)
âwhy do we need minorities in European stories!? they wouldn't do a story about Africa with white actors!â
âMaybe they didnât cast an actor of color because they didnât auditioned!â
âwhy do we need minorities in settings that donât make sense!? you donât see white people being placed in stories and setting with a non-white majority!âÂ
Bringing this back

This is an envelope I made from a bag from trip to Disneyland in 1994. This envelope is just over 20 years old. It will contain some letters I have written to my best friend. â¤ď¸

whatâs sad about this generation is that they throw our ââŚphobicâ without actually knowing what that word means. remember when you had to actually know what something meant before you used it?
the word âphobicâ means âof or relating to a phobia or phobias.â when you look up âphobiaâ the definition is âpersistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it.â in medicine, it is defined as âa persistent, abnormal, or irrational fear of a specific thing or situation that compels one to avoid the feared stimulus.â
over at wikipedia, we find the psychological/clinical definition of the word. it states âa phobia is a type of anxiety disorder, usually defined as a persistent fear of an object or situation in which the sufferer commits to great lengths in avoiding, typically disproportional to the actual danger posed, often being recognized as irrational. in the event the phobia cannot be avoided entirely, the sufferer will endure the situation or object with marked distress and significant interference in social or occupational activities.â
the theme in the actual definition of âphobicâ and âphobiaâ is âirrational fear.â i often see people being accused of being ââŚphobicâ who arenât displaying irrational fear. now they may be displaying dislike, disgust or even hatred but not fear. they may even be displaying that dislike, disgust or even hatred towards ONE person, but itâs still not fear. also just because you donât understand and/or like their reasoning for their disgust, dislike and even hatred, doesnât automatically make it âirrationalâ either.
so the question is how did we as a society get completely turned around on what phobias are? with so much information around us, how did ââŚphobicâ become something so widely MISUSED? my first thought is that people take their cues on these things from loud mouths who are just loud but not smart. usually politicians or someone with an agenda. however i realized that the problem is much deeper than that. i think itâs truly as nietzsche said âto predict the behavior of ordinary people in advance, you only have to assume that they will always try to escape a disagreeable situation with the smallest possible expenditure of intelligence.âÂ

It is important to keep in mind that some of the patterned behaviors that we frequently recognize within black culture were originally developed to keep us alive. They originally had a definite survival value. They are a testimony to the strength, inventiveness and determination of our people and our refusal to give up as a people. Even âtodayâ chronic patterns have a âget-us-byâ survival value. Today, many of these responses to mistreatment have become embedded in our culture but they no longer serve a useful function. Instead, these so-called âelements of black cultureâ operate to lock us into our roles as victims of oppression.
Suzanne Lipsky
written in the 1980s and yet even truer today.
black culture is not perfect. no culture is. imperfections in our culture have been used as an excuse to perpetuate our violent oppression while imperfections in white culture are hidden off to the side, not talked about and certainly not held against white people as a race. while i do not play the respectability game (because itâs pure fuckery and a lie), we as black people do have some things to work out. working out these things WILL NOT end racism, WILL NOT get white people to respect and like us more, WILL NOT end institutional racism and oppression. however itâs not about them or that. these things are worth addressing because we are a great people and doing so will only make us better. however we must address them without fear of the white gaze and most certainly without any input from white or other non-black people.

There are people still benefiting off of the money made in slave trade as well
There are people alive TODAY, whoâs grandparents were slaves.
My goodness. No matter how many ways I see and read this information Iâm startled. People swear slavery was light years ago like weâre living in the year 4015 instead of 2015.
Also people donât understand just how horrible segregation and Jim Crow was. It was a step up from slavery in the same way 10pm is a step up from 9pm.
Man.
Literally thereâs NOTHING you can do about it now⌠What would you like us to do about it? End slavery? Done.
white ignorance and fragility on display. because black oppression for the benefit of whiteness ended with slavery, right? but i bet she swears sheâs not a racist tho. will swear it all day and night.
sit your ignorant white ass down somewhere. better yet just go join the klan so you can stop pretending youâre not what you are.
