A conga line of disappointment

Bruce W. Smith was one of my biggest, modern animation heroes as a kid and I didn’t even know it. I noticed his magic first, seeing his directorial debut, Bebe’s Kids. Next he switched it up as Animation Director of the classic feature, Space Jam. His work as Supervising Animator of Kerchack from Disney’s Tarzan. Then later, Pacha, from The Emperor’s New Groove. Finally, he left his mark on me with TV animation when he created The Proud Family. He came back to the fold to display his signature flair as Supervising Animator of Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog.

okay so………….there’s this part during the DragonSpiral Tower section where the tower starts to shake and you’re given a little narration bubble saying that there’s some sort of battle going on at the top of the tower, and then you hear Reshiram/Zekrom’s cry. since the change is worse in White version, let’s go with Reshiram

so in the Japanese version, you get this little narration text, and then you get this

this text is an onomatopoeia of Reshiram’s cry, and the actual soundbite of its cry is played right as the text pops up. makes sense right?

the soundbite of Reshiram’s cry still plays over the text, implying that either Reshiram is somehow saying this…..or, more likely, N is, because he’s the only person up there battling with it

this makes it semi-canon that N has not only soMEHOW heard the song “Disco Inferno” at least once, but also that he felt the need to quote it while fighting with a legendary dragon……………fuck. off.
